April Fool's idea - Jungle Creep Battle (and possibly play as Urf)

I've had this idea for a while. What if players were only allowed to play as jungle creeps? Here's what I'm thinking.

Each game starts like a normal draft mode on SR. Summoners choose their champs, summoner spells, runes and masteries. The game loads like normal.

On this mode, champions can't use any abilities or attack. All champions have the same movement speed, and all are invincible. At each turret, there is a beacon. The champion steps onto or activates the beacon somehow and after a few seconds, goes into a stasis animation. The player is then allowed to play as the jungle creep of his or her choice. That jungle creep spawns at said turret, and is the actual playable character. I understand that abilities will have to be created for the playable creeps for this to be fun, so let's assume that part is covered below (it isn't.....yet)

Masteries and runes will still apply to the creeps chosen. Also, some of the creeps will have certain passives, i.e. Red Brambleback (the creep formerly known as Red Lizard Elder) will have the red buff as a passive, maybe the Scuttle Crab can lay a ton of wards with no restriction.

At certain milestones, such as number of kills or number of CS, different (stronger) creeps become available to the team. For instance, let's say at the beginning of the game, all players on both teams can choose to play as a wolf or a wraith. Blue team gets 10 kills, and now, everyone on blue team has new creeps to choose from. (stats will have to be adjusted to make it an achievement to unlock new creeps to play as in the game)

If you purchased items for a creep, those items will be with that creep wherever you spawn it from as long as you don't change it out with a different one. However, if you change to a different creep (let's say you unlocked Dragon and want to take him for a spin) then instead of being able to take your items with you, you get the gold equivalent of selling your items and you get to deck out your new character. Just like you can click "undo" in the shop, if you accidentally swapped out creeps, you can "undo" the change as long as you haven't impacted the game. My thought is that a player will have to strategically choose between continuing to build on his/her existing creep or starting over. This means that each tier of creeps will have to be significantly stronger than the previous.

If you want to Recall as a creep, you go back to the turret your champion is in stasis at and heal up there. The player can reactivate the beacon to send the creep back and get the summoner out of stasis. If the creep dies, the champion is released from stasis right away and has to wait a set period of time before being able to activate the same beacon. If you can go to a different turret that is still alive AND your beacon link (or something catchy like that) isn't on cooldown for that turret, you can instantly get any creep that is unlocked for your team in that game. If a turret dies and a champion is in stasis, the champion dies, and normal death timers apply.

Each turret has its own base stats, but for every champion in stasis, the turret gets a boost. So, if all 5 champions are based out of the nexus turrets, the front turrets in each lane aren't as strong as they could be, but the nexus turrets would hurt a lot more than normal.

The game would end like any other normal game. There would also be a beacon for the fountain so that, in the event that a nexus is exposed, players could still get their creeps.

Here's what I'm thinking for playable characters at different milestones. ** Beginning of the game** Gromp / Krugs / Wolves / Small wraith

Kill Razorbeaks and small golems Razorbeaks / Small Golem

Team gets first Blood Scuttle Crab

Ten team kills Giant Wraith / Giant wolf

Ace the other team Big Golem (Twisted Treeline)

Kill dragon once Super Minion

Everyone on the team has a kill Blue sentinel / Red Brambleback

Destroy four enemy turrets Vilemaw / Dragon / Poro King

Kill Baron Baron Nashor / Urf (it would give us all a chance to finally play Urf too)

I have some ideas on what every creep's abilities would be (scuttle crab needs to have a dash in there, and dragon needs to have some sort of AOE knockback) but I'd like to leave the idea here for now and see what people think.

From imgur. 1. PANDAS DO NOT TASTE GOOD, DONT EAT THEM.

  1. Great Idea except this should be a seperate gamemode as most people will find this lame and boring. I mean who really wants to be a gromp?

  2. I don't know what to put here: Hi.item 3160
