Because I'd really love to see that. I know many players that play mostly Dom and/ or ARAM and they're actually very skilled at it so it's a shame there is no ranked for such modes. Can we expect that for the future?
I never understood why people ask for ranked ARAM. It's clear a fun mode, everything is random, and everyone is in the same lane. It pretty much destroys any reason to have ranked. And with these snow balls it's even less "serious". Dominion on the other hand can have it. Having a good team comp, denying vision to the enemy, blocking the ways in the jungle to prevent them from get your towers (rather than sitting under the tower and showing them where you are -.-), ganking bot, back caping. Are all strategic moves. All what is needed to have ranked.

Riot's most likely just going to refuse ranked Dominion again, citing "insufficient playerbase," and go back to waiting for the map to magically generate new players before doing anything.

You will probably never see ranked ARAM, and why would you want to? It's an entirely luck based mode (unless you make an ARAM account) that's suppose to be fun and not taken seriously. I will agree that dominion should have a Ranked queue.
They know we all want it, which is exactly why they will never give it to us.
Ranked ARAM would require some changes. Entire champion pool opened for everyone is mandatory. And some system, that give you more points for wining on weak team comp and takes more points for losing on strong team comp. It would require some mad math with win rates.
Could we get draft ARDAM first?
It would make things balanced more than anything else. The ability to pick and choose will mitigate 'luck' factors.
They've pretty much said that Dominion won't get ranked unless the playerbase drastically increases, which I think is unlikely to happen unless they do something to make Dominion more attractive to more players. So, no, no Dominion ranked anytime soon.
ARAM ranked? Eh, I wouldn't trust someone who got, say, Diamond in ARAM to be actually good at the game. For one thing, people could duo-queue with friends and have their friend dodge whenever they don't like the lineup. Sure, the friend's LP will be sucky, but you might gain some more wins thanks to it. I could spend more time arguing why I think ranked ARAM would be a bad idea, but I don't think it's worth my time at this point.
There are ARAM tournaments though. If you really like ARAM and know other people that really like ARAM, sign up for an ARAM tournament.
Nope, they do not want people complaining about the balance on those maps, its partly why special game mods do not stay around for more then a week or two. Plus the more ranked scenes there are, the harder it is to que with similar skilled players in the actual 5v5 map.
I still don't see why we can't have a less random version of this map first. I was under the assumption the big thing about the map was the All Mid part.
Howling Abyss Ranked =/= ARAM ranked.
In poker, you are just as likely as anyone else to get good cards, and unlike Poker, you don't get a 15 minute penalty for trying to dodge/fold if you don't like what you're dealt. Trust me, I love playing the game and would make it my career, but as I said, making a draft based version of ARAM would remove luck altogether.
Wouldn't opening the pool be a monetary detriment to Riot's "sell you champions" philosophy?
