Winter and Halloween Summoner's Rift
Since Summoner's Rift is getting a complete overhaul, does this mean that Riot will be able to have the Winter and Halloween Summoner's Rift this year?

I would love an option to have Halloween Map Skin. I'd keep it that way for like.. EVER!
I think they will have the Rift updates for Special events. Like the World up. ;-)

What would be cool is a winter themed map where you leave footprint trails and you have a weather gauge. Constant exposure to the elements will cause the gauge to drop and you will receive DPS when the gauge has been fully depleted. The footprints will last only a few seconds but more than enough for the enemy jungler to track you down. Upon escape activate sweeper to hide footprints. Long chases can deplete weather gauge and there will be a gain on weather damage the longer you move around with a depleted gauge. Bushes can possibly reduce the drainage of gauge. When fighting with empty gauge stats may decrease. The frozen river can possibly give a increase in speed but decrease in gauge health.
pls rito. i was so looking forward to seeing this when i started playing last year, but i no sees :(. however, it will be a long time before they can release any such things, as they would have to almost completely remake summoners rift visually 3 times.
yeah, at least for normal mode, i would LOVE to see themed maps return.
also, a beta for a different 5v5 map would be nice. sc2 does a LOT of good balance work by changing out the map pool, while maintaining certain features/distances/etc for balance, and i think LoL could benefit greatly from this additional depth for competitive and casual play.
Please Riot if anything you can do,you can give us back map skins to destroy monotony in playing same map over and over...Also add summer skin with beach and palms and tourist stuff on it...Halloween and winter should be just modified to look like a part of this map and we would be so happy..It's no big deal..You even said in video it's not problem to make a map..Here you don't even need to make it you only switch the textures and add some cool thematic things...PLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i remember back in the old days it was so fun seeing urf's ghost floating and the graves of other unmade champs bottom right, please make the winter and halloween maps back in P.S: that shurima dessert and summer things are also awesome!
I'm guessing since Riot's busting their balls getting this new Summoner's Rift finished, they won't have the time to put out event map skins soon. But that doesn't mean it won't happen.

I'm pretty sure somewhere Riot said they would not be able to put one out soon because they are working on the VU but it might be a possibility in the future.
I think not this year.. they have enough work with the VU :x
I think they already said since SR was getting a VU it was going to be easier for them to do things like that! So fingers crossed! :D
I never had the chance to try the map skins since I started last year T_T I really want to see them.
I damn hope so since in 2011 when they did it raised the popularity of summoner rift from other maps by tons and since that there was no events that changed or updated the rift until this patch and the normal map is getting quite boring. so riot PLZ MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Yes, so third party modders like Yurixy and Chewbacca don't need to bust their butts in order to restore maps that are buggy and don't even work right anymore, when Riot could make a map that is actually cohesive with the current map.
I would say there is definitely a better chance of that happening after this update goes live. By the end of the year? I don't think so. I'm guessing this map will have a nice long stay on the PBE, akin to Teambuilder, which means they'd have to have the Halloween skin almost ready right now alongside the brand new map itself, which I doubt.
I definitely hope they do this eventually though. It's really cool and a nice change of pace to play in a winter wonderland for the holidays or a graveyard for Halloween. I wouldn't want them to rush this though, and I'd much rather see them put lots of love into these themed map skins so we get lots of fun Easter eggs and extra details and such. Maybe next year?

the removing of these themes in the first place was probably one of the most pointless and stupid things riot has ever done. There was no good reason at all not to keep them. None. We should have them back.
i would really want to have that change so that it suits the season and it wont like make things the same all of the time.
