Summoner Rift Feed Back and suggestions. Please read riot :)
Hi Riot i would like to say good job on the VU it looks truly truly Outrageous. I would love to see some small minor details added to make the environment more realistic and enjoyable for the players Eye (mostly in the river).
1, The River: I, like many other players would love to see ripple animations when you walk or hover over the river. The summoner rift on Live currently does not have any and unfortunately the new one does not either, it still looks like you are walking on a blue floor that just imitates a river. Now i have seen a few threads stating that ripple animations would give away a person position in game and the best way i can think of to solve this problem is to simply put it directly underneath the champion just like the current shadow animation.
2, The Dragon/ the south east river: I love the new dragon and its spawning animation but it would be super epic if it would exhale fire during the roar animation( it would make it look more fierce). Smoke emitting out of its mouth when its sitting in the pit would also be wonderful to see. Its a dragon it should have Smoke and Fire coming out of its mouth :p.
Now regarding the dragon pit area adding some very light steam near the Dragon pit would be nice. A Dragon is a fire creature (which is super hot) and when fire meets water it creates a lot of steam. I think adding a light fog effect would indicate that a dragon lives near by. This effect goes nicely with the map because just north of it in the blue buff area it's wet and has rain animations. I think each area with their own specific animations matches the map's artistic view( as in each region looks different so why shouldn't the river?). In addition adding water animations under the dragon when it flaps its wings is also a good idea.
3,Baron Area: The Baron animation is pretty awesome but the little water animation when it pops out looks kinda cheesy. Considering Baron is a monstrosity that can change half the map i think a tidal wave would look a lot better. This also leads me back to the water animations baron cant make any big ripples while stomping around in the pit. I find it takes away from the overall thought that this is something to be feared. I have also seen some people talk about Barons Roar which i think is pretty good already but maybe adding some animations when it roars like an air wave with a lot of saliva coming out ( similar to Godzilla or a T-Rex Roar).
** 4, North west jungle( red buff)/ Lanes** : I think on some lanes and in the north west jungle champions should create little dust cloud animations when walking on the dusty looking parts. Some areas look really dry so adding a little dust would add to the overall "realistic" feel just like how ripples in the river would.
Now these are just some small minor ideas that i think would take this map from "pretty cool" to "omfg this is soo different dfASDSFVDASF TOO EPIC!".
