A Rough Map Design
This is an idea I've had for quite a while, even back when I used to play DOTA. I've never drawn it up (Even as rough as this) and I decided to tonight. It pretty much has everything there except for monsters, as I'm not sure where, or even if they should be put. As this is more of a fast paced map. The base idea is to give a lane to a single champion. I don't know about a lot of people here, but I'm sick of people getting my kills at top or bot lanes all the time. A lane each would do well, and it would give each champion the feeling that their teammates are depending on them. The only flaw with this idea? Sadly, not everybody is understanding or nice to other's when they make a mistake. At the far left and far right lanes, you have the tall grass running right through the middle. If you time everything right, it could be a deadly gank area for a fleeing enemy champion. As an approaching champion would probably be alerted as soon as minions go through the grass. The three mid lanes are very sparse in order to even things out a little bit, save for the gaps in the impassable lines. Perfect to set up ganks. Increasing the difficulty for both sides. In this design, instead of three, or if going overboard, five inhibitors, there are only two for each side. It'll make people play more defensively, and it'll make them appreciate their inhibitors a little more. In order to make it a little easier, bear in mind that one inhibitor will be spawning enough minions for 2 1/2 lanes. Spreading out evenly as they leave the Nexus area. It'll give a bit more defense, or, for Yi lover's, an excellent farming opportunity. Of course... One inhibitor down? You're gonna have to play defensively until that inhibitor respawns. Which, I think for a map like this, should respawn in less time than the inhibitors in Summoner's Rift. I understand one of the main problems with this map would slightly discourage teamwork, as each champion gets a single lane. But with it's possibly horrendous opportunities for ganking, it'll encourage team communication. Even if it's just through pings, if you want to win and get that extra IP/XP you better make sure you alert a fellow summoner that the champion that just vanquished you is moving in for a gank. The map design makes it possible for teamwork, but it'll be difficult to keep track of everything all at once, at times. This map is designed to be very fast paced, for the speed freaks and people who want to level up and get champions as quick as possible (Or so they think) or just generally for people who are sick of sharing lanes with kill thieves. (Goddamn you Katarina/Lux/Jax/Darius/Ashe/Nidalee/Riven/Etc) This is a very rough idea, and needs a lot of improving, and more in-depth work. But you get the idea.
