Dominion Ranked - is long overdue
I've been silently expecting a ranked queue for Dominion for a few years now, and not a hint about it - it's high time to get it going on!

Dominion's been my preferred mode since release, and I can count the number of lanepushing matches I've played on one hand since then. At almost 5,000 games of Dom played, I can tell you with absolute certainty that Riot doesn't particularly care about the playerbase and they won't cater to it. It's such a small fraction of the general population that from a business standpoint that they couldn't possibly be bothered with making adjustments to it.
I've stopped wasting my breath and my spirit's pretty much broken when it comes to playing anymore. I go into a match keeping my fingers crossed that I have at least 3 other real players there that aren't bots, and that at least 1 of those other 3 is actually good in that mode and understands how things work. Unfortunately, as most people tend to duo/trio-queue in Dom and go in to use it as a live practice mode for champions that they're unfamiliar with or they'd like to test new builds (that never seem to work out, ever) the experience for the veteran Dominion player is disastrous and discouraging.
But ultimately, who cares? 1% of the consumerbase dropping off isn't going to affect even the mailroom's Christmas bonuses at Riot HQ. These complaints fall on deaf ears, boys. We've been complaining for years. Time to spend our green on greener pastures.
Y'know, it's funny... e-sports (lol) has always been about hard-hitting, fast-paced action. I don't understand how it came to be that watching 3 teamfights over the space of 45 minutes has become so mindblowingly awesome, and yet Dominion's action going on the entire match isn't seen as a goldmine. Must be all of the Mountain Dew.
they'll sooner add 3v3 solo q (which they should) then add ranked dominion.
I believe they stated in the past that they wouldn't do more than one queue for dominion.
The amount of people playing dominion is so much lower than other game modes that it would split the playerbase and make queue times ridiculous.
That was said a few years ago when Dominion first released. The player base has increased exponentially since then, so maybe its something they'll take another look at.

While I have not been here the longest. All of what these folks are saying is true. It is a changing rito story every time. How it stands now, it would be abysmal to separate the small player base into two modes. You could argue that ranked will bring more people, but I don't believe that's true. Maybe some SR people looking to get a diamond badge or whatnot like you see in 3's. Those people don't actually play 3's because it is 3's, but rather for the rewards. The queue times are atrocious and are unplayable for some people. In order to bring a lot more people to dominion it needs rito TLC, but as stated before riot rather invest their time into improving/maintaining the summoner's rift experience. Not sure if riot will ever show dominion the attention it deserves. So sad news bears.
They've said ranked isn't happening yet because of low interest or whatever. they did say they would work on improving the mode, but then they've done almost literally nothing in the months since replying to my thread, or years since dominion came out.
(dom has seen some good changes but nothing significant recently)

Riot has stated plenty of times their are not enough dom players to support ranked play. Hell lyte has stated that he wants to terminate the draft option cause no one uses it(even though riots fault).
I love playing dominion... but i don't play PvP. I play 5v5 bots (intermediate/beginner bots). Its not that bad.
