ok so in the dev stream they said it will be "more accessible to toasters"
how accessible is it? because might I add I have one or two friends that have the equivalence of a rock and a paper weight connected on what seems to be Wal-Mart internet. will it really be playable for them with out them unintentionally DDosing me 
Okay.. First off the new VU to the map itself has nothing to do with your friends 'wal-mart internet' The developers talk about graphically it will be able to still be played, if not better for what we call "toaster computers." What they did in the long run, was increase detail in the overall map, while still being able to reduce polygons on the map, you most likely wont be able to tell a difference.
