We seriously need URF back. Permanently.

Yes, you probably see a post about people crying about how they want URF, but hear me out before you comment "QQ more". I have valid arguments and reasons for Ultra Rapid Fire to be a constantly available game type to the players of the League, be it just in custom games or always holding a spot in the PvP matchingmaking system.

First of all, lets take a look at the other game modes. In regards to PvP, there is the most played currently 5v5 Summoner's Rift queues. But then we have ARAM, 3v3 Twisted Treeline, and 5v5 Dominion. I'd say ARAM is played a good amount, but Twisted Treeline and more heavily Dominion are neglected by most players. When testing out the queue times yesterday, it took me a astonishing 5 minutes and 4 seconds to find a Dominion match and 3 minutes flat to find a Twisted Treeline normal match compared to the ~25 seconds of normal Summoner's Rift queues and the 39 seconds to find an ARAM match. Honestly, Ultra Rapid Fire was much more popular than all of these game types when it was out. I remember vividly being surprised at finding a match almost instantly with my friends at first when queuing up for URF.

Now lets focus on us. The community. Just on one Ultra Rapid Fire-related post (http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/features/ultra-rapid-fire-future) there was 1726 comments. The top comment? "please make it permanent :-/". Later on in that thread, someone started a petition to bring URF back for good (https://www.change.org/petitions/riot-games-make-ultra-rapid-fire-a-permanent-game-mode-on-league-of-legends). How many signatures did it collect? 16,910, and still rising.

But why did we love URF? Sure, the spammable abilties were amazing. But we also loved URF because it was free of toxicity (for the most part). How are you going to rage in a fun, laid back mode like URF? I know me, for one, could use a break after a losing streak of ranked games. One or two URF games would be the perfect release for all of that anger that occasionally builds up inside me when losing in ranked matches.

This game mode was so popular, in fact, that at the time most if not all Twitch streamers broadcasted Ultra Rapid Fire gameplay. If you go on Twitch right now, I sincerely doubt anybody is streaming a Doom Bots game. Speaking of Doom Bots, lets speak about playablility. You play the 3 levels of Doom Bots and you are done. It's not really fun after that. But in Ultra Rapid Fire, you have never experienced any champion the same way in a normal game, like you have in Hexakill, One for All, or Snowdown Showdown.

And sure, some players say people will get bored of it and people won't play it after a while. But why not have it there for the players that will play it, incoming League players that have never experienced it before, players that missed it in it's short period during April, or players like me who will play it every once in a while to cool off and have some fun.

I also realize that in the Doom Bots Q&A, a Rioter said "Given URF's popularity, we want to bring it back, and even better than it was the first time around. We wanna play it too!! >o</". Please do not make it worse like you did with One for All Mirror Mode (limiting to Howling Abyss and making everybody have the same champ isn't as fun)...I think everybody loved URF how it was. And now that you are bringing it back, can it just be permanent? I think I speak for the whole League of Legends community when I say BRING URF BACK!....please Rito.

I am open for discussion and ideas in the comments!

URF is like an addictive drug with none of the harmful side effects. I need my URF fix, and I need it bad.

Too long; didn't read. (Sorry.)

As much as I want to see it back as well, we will most likely NEVER see U.R.F. Mode again. The mode was too popular. It took too much attention away from SR. In my case, and I'm sure in many others, if U.R.F. Mode was permanent, it'd be the only thing I play. Riot wants players' attention on Summoner's Rift due to the e$ports scene. They are simply scared of the upsets that U.R.F. Mode would bring to the table. All in all, the mode is too fun and would have too much staying power for Riot to consider it acceptable. Its popularity EXPLODED. 5v5 Mirror Match was fun for 3 games until people realized it was boring as hell. People weren't getting tired of U.R.F. Mode. A lot of people watch e$ports to improve their own play. If U.R.F. Mode was permanent, it would cut into that demographic because a lot of people would never touch ranked again and thus lose interest in the LCS.

This is just my theory.

16,000 is less than 1% of the people who play league. Personally I want different game types; they all have the potential to be just as good as URF. I loved URF and I played 50+ games, but when you look at it, URF competes directly with regular LoL. They joked about URF being "The Future of League," but it isn't something they actually want to happen.

A second point: In MMORPGs, holiday events and other public events happen. They can be fun, but they are meant to come, be fun, and then leave on a positive note. It isn't a stable event; URF had tons of bugs and balance issues and eventually people WILL get tired of it if it becomes permanent, heresy it may seem.

I want URF to keep coming back, but if it was added permanently, it would end up like Dominion, dead. People talk about removing dominion every day, but it used to be MORE popular than URF was. There's already a precedent to why URF isn't permanent.

League isn't a balanced game as it stands: many champions are supremely powerful compared to others. Rather than giving Riot another game type to patch, watch, and review: let them focus on things like the SR VU, balancing OP champions, and reworking old ones.

In my opinion the only thing they might do is bring it back as a custom game mode, and even that is a long shot.

I would like to bring it back but for only one reason. That would be for play testing. When URF can out I was just starting to learn Lee Sin and for me the sole reason to play URF (PvP or Bots) was so I could practice mechanical skills I normally wouldnt get to use. Things like flash ults or ward jumping or even combos. I could do all of this on URF with no restrictions. That was my favorite thing about URF. So i dont mind if its not a "Permanent" game mode, but as a custom game mode I would be able to do the same thing at my own leisure.

I think it's a great thing to bring back for another short period of time, but we simply can't have it as a permanent game mode or we'll lose ll the things you said made it great. A meta would develop (as it kind of was near the end #pickbanHec) and any non-meta pick would be stomped. The diversity would stop completely and it would have the same problem as the other modes. It's a fun mode because it's a mode that doesn't care about balance, but because both sides are going to try to win someone will find a way to balance it out or get frustrated doing so.
