Why URF should not just be a featured game mode anymore

It's now been over a year since URF was first played by the community. URF obviously had the best feedback in terms of featured game modes. I understand where you are coming from to a certain extent, Riot. Yes, the point of featured game modes is so that you can keep refining and bringing new experiences each year. Completely agree on the point, but do you not see that URF is unlike many of your other game modes? Ascension, All for One, All for One: Mirror Mode, Poro King, Doom Bots; One thing they all have in common is that (yes they are only featured game modes) they are fun. But the one's from this list also have one thing in common. They got boring after a while. I think I can fairly make this case and have a majority of the community agree. Obviously, certain people will like certain game modes, but I think we can all agree on it. URF was a game mode that was different. URF was, is, and will probably always be fun. Something about it's play style just doesn't get old. It provides a way to have fun in league and relax. It's a place where your kills and deaths don't count for anything more than in that game. You can try new things, have a game full of friends all playing champions with say, stuns/roots or champions with global ults. URF is like a new normal mode for more layed back players. It's like the opposite of ranked. For people not wanting the competitiveness normal games offer. Riot, as much as you may know about how to keep the community happy, you need to take the hint that people want this as a permanent game mode. This game mode offers a whole new experience to League of Legends that has almost revolutionized the game. Sure it was meant to be a gag, but haven't you seen what it was become? Please Riot, i think i can make the claim that the community would love to have it as a 'to stay' game mode. It doesn't need its own map. It doesn't need anything else. A few tweaks and changes here and there, but keep it how it is, but make it here to stay. You do some great things Riot, make this another one of them.

**EDIT: ** Just want to say i appreciate all the feedback, good and bad. I know everyone has their own opinions!

Ascension never got boring for me. URF got old like 4 days in. Honestly, it's not fun or relaxing getting stomped and feeling completely irrelevant, which happens almost every single game. I'll be glad when it's gone, and I hope something better comes soon.

I think it's better to have it twice per year, perhaps? Or even three times per year. It'd probably get old fairly quickly, I suspect.

I saw one post that suggested it be a kind of fun friday event every week. That would be cool.

All of the featured game modes get boring because within the week of release, the players start trying to enact a meta in it, which in turn pushes players in to hostile territory when everyone starts flaming each other for picks and deaths. These modes never last long enough to work past that phase, so they always end on a bad note; URF is the exact same way. Right now, you're up to your eyeballs in games where people always pick the same cheese ball champs of Zed, Kat, Sona, Riven, and a few others, to the point where it sucks the fun out of the game when you get deleted constantly while maybe trying to enjoy different champs and have fun.

URF takes the most boring stagnant map in the game and transforms it into exciting action combat.

I vote to delete the classic ruleset from SR and replace it with URF. That way we get 4 fun maps instead of only 3.

URF never got boring Oh look, their team has another Sona, a Zed a Ezreal a Katarina and a Hecarim. Our team is Leblanc, Nidalee, Shaco, Maokai and Wukong. Ohhh look, its the same as the last 10 games we played. Not boring at all. Now if they left it, but gave each team 5 bans, then it would be great

For me, Ascension and TT Hexakill were the best modes actually. There are too many ridiculously OP champions in URF and tryharders pick them and ruin every game.

I thought One for All was great before they ruined it by making it a mirror on howling abyss.
