New SR performance issues

Was super pumped to play new SR, finally load in and I can hardly play. It's been claimed that the new SR will run better than the old one, but I feel like my computer just went several years out of date and I play old SR on max settings with 60+ fps. After turning everything down to minimum there was slight improvement, but it was still so bad I couldn't cs and abilities wouldn't always activate.

My thoughts exactly... the issue is that it lags especially in team fights, when both of the teams engage. I can't use any champions that have quick combos because the FPS just drops dramatically.

I don't understand how it can be claimed that the new rift is better in performance when it doesn't run acceptably on the lowest settings. My computer also runs this game at 65+ at medium settings.

Not sure why people are having issues. Maybe it is hardware/driver specific. Because I have a toaster and I have better fps on the new rift, I can actually use the Very High setting when I couldn't even use Medium or higher on the old rift.

BFG Nvidia 6800 GS OC 256MB stock settings. AMD X2 6000+ 3.2 GHz Windows XP

New Rift Settings 50-70 FPS 40-50 in team fights no jerking, freezes, or anything. Smooth as my FPS allows.

Environment - Very High Effects - Very High Characters - Low but may bump to Medium or High because of the new map. No Shadows.

I can't run these settings at all on the old rift. 10-20 FPS with these settings on the old. I have to run the old environment on low or very low to get the same FPS, medium or higher drops it hard.

I've got a gaming laptop that was high end 3 years ago. Old SR I get 60-80 FPS on high settings. New SR I never break 30 and it drops lower than that during team-fights.

Considering Riot made the game uglier with their visual "upgrade," seems like a lose/lose for a lot of players. I think they are going to lose people over this mistake. My GF could not play the new map on her computer with a passable frame-rate.

Not everyone that plays LoL has a state of the art gaming computer. There are a lot of casual players that are going to be hurt by this change.

jeez, u guys have extremly low fps. how is it even possible to play the game at 10-20 fps? i think u guys just need to upgrade ur Gcards. old SR i run at 240+ FPS.

ill update when i get in game for new SR.

edit: new SR im getting 350-360+ FPS. so definitly an increase. u guys need to upgrade ur Gcards for the ones that were getting only 50-60 FPS on old SR.

They obviously have no tested it on the toasterist of toasters as they would have to highjack my computer to do so

I don't know what's up with some people because I'm able to play the new SR just fine on the same graphics settings it was on the old one, with similar performance And I'm running league on 4 year old Gaming laptop.

You bought that a major graphics update wouldn't kill toasters?

the sadness. you have it.

Seriously, that was such bull. I warned my brother (he has a crappy PC) but he swore up and down Riot wouldn't release the new map if it would affect performance. He gets 5 fps now.
