Secret Game Mode: The Wanderer
The lanes are ripe with the fresh struggle for dominance, as minions have just begun to march to their deaths. First blood is scored by top lane Renekton on an unlucky Syndra in the river. The croc and his allies revel in the early lead and begin to travel to their respective lanes, and the junglers to the... well, the jungle. As Ren passes Baron Nashor's pit, the sounds of stirring cause him to pause. Baron never responds to the din of battle so early... With a shrug, Renekton moves on.
Summoner's Rift is now in full swing, and Renekton has just slain his top lane counter part. With a victory snarl, Ren begins his recall. Suddenly, a strange noise echoes from the waters of the river. It sounds like... a tinkling bell and the pitter patter of little feet. Canceling his recall, the croc curiously approaches the river brush and steps inside it, only to immediately regret his decision.
The massive form of Baron Nashor rushes towards him on two tiny feet. It tinkles comically and its head flops around like a bobble-head. It would have been funny, had he not been spitting acid, dealing damage to the weakened Renekton. With a mighty swing of his head, Baron can now fashion himself a new set of leather boots. With a tinkling and rapid moving stubby legs, Baron is off to roam once more.
The Wanderer: Secret Game mode
The Wanderer is a game mode in which everything is as it should be for a normal match on Summoner's Rift except for one small detail... Baron has emerged from his pit, and is stretching his adorably tiny legs.
After 5 minutes, our resident monster emerges for the first time in League history to explore the rift. Baron spawns either on his pit or at dragon lair if the dragon is not there. He can go anywhere he pleases except for team bases (he has a hard time with stairs), and is mostly harmless at first. He has a random pattern and will essentially "gank" different lanes, attacking on sight. Upon reaching half health, he will make a beeline back to his pit or dragon lair. If he makes it back, he will spawn again in 3 minutes to continue roaming.
He scales a third as much as he normally would, so he can be taken down by one or two players. Because he is easier to slay, he obviously grants less rewards. He is still a prime target however, granting the champion that kills him 100g and a 90 sec Baron buff that is halved in potency. Baron will re-emerge and sound a bell chime for all to hear 3 minutes after being slain. If Baron dies in the fog of war, a different bell will chime for all to know he is not currently roaming.
Turrets an minions will ignore Baron, but Baron can get blue or red buff if he kills a champ with it active, or if his aoe happens to kill golem or elder lizard by chance. Killing Baron will yield the buffs to the champion.
The reason this game mode is "secret" is because I believe that the players should not be initially informed of the changes. The need to experience the newly mobile for themselves. Maybe an April Fool's day, or just a mode simply entitled The Wanderer.
