Add Champion Mastery to ARAM

ARAM is the only game mode I've played since the queue was added, and I was really excited for the addition of champion mastery only to find out that you don't get points from playing games on the Howling Abyss (which i will further refer to as HA).

My question is... WHY NOT (really answer this)? The idea of gradually accruing points across my champion pool seemed like such a fun thing to do, or being able to visually see how often I get which champion on HA - it just seems like such a let down to find out that's not something I'm going to have access to if I'm not playing on summoners rift. Is there any chance of having this apply to HA as well?

I understand the concept of it, I do, but experience playing the champion on Howling Abyss, is still experience, is it not?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's because things like CS, and warding are big or semi-big factors into how much points and grade level you get post every match on SR. Which I guess would make sense since ARAM has no wards and minions are just kinda there in the cross fire.

But I also love playing ARAM (literally it's all I've played the last like 3 weeks lol) so even if the points were just reduced rather than removed entirely would be nice.

I think we're all just waiting for it. Haha.

It's an excellent idea for learning new champs.

Aram still allows you to mechanically master the champion you are using, I would agree that if they only added a semi mastery gain or lower amount of mastery gain that would be OK, but I do not like to play aram and get nothing out of it.

Should never be on there. It's a mode of fun and randomness... the champion mastery is more serious for people leveling their champs and getting better at them.

ARAM requires more champion knowledge than any other mode. You need to know every champ inside and out, know your own roll and how to play them, know your opponents' rolls and how to counter them, and have a ton of flexibility in your build to properly counter them and turn the match in your favor, along with, of course, the mechanical skills needed to actually fight.

What does SR have? cow clicker skills. Every single champion (except junglers who need WoW skills) just needs the skill to click on a minion once its health reaches a certain point. Wow, such mastery. You clicked a thing. Have a cookie. Oh, you got a kill too? Have a snowballing advantage so you can win fights through raw numbers now instead of needing any skill once it comes time to teamfight. Could you imagine having to teamfight from relatively even footing? HA!... wait I mean... f***. Yes, HA. Murderbridge. The place where that does happen. (not the only place, but Dominion follows a very different, tho even harder to pull off, skillset as far as positioning, engagement, and skirmishing) Pulling it off there shows far more mastery than clicking the depleted healthbars as they pop up on your screen on Farmville Rift ever could.

It was enabled in ARAM on EUNE at release for a couple of days, but was later removed, which was pretty disappointing.

Had read beforehand that it was originally only intended for SR but thought they had changed their mind after the discussion on the boards. Where it was stated (in response to it being nothing more than a grind mechanic) that it wasn't intended to be anything else than a fun addition for tracking your personal growth/familiarity with a champion (ie it has nothing to do with how good you are with a champion on SR, other than leveling it faster).

So it really doesn't seem to be any reason not to have it in ARAM, it isn't less fun to see a little tracker of your "personal performance" just because it's a different game mode. Only reason I could think of to exclusively have it for SR would be as an incentive to see if more players would use team builder to shorten its que.

Hope it will return soon, I'd say that it was more fun on ARAM since it gave you something for playing a champion that you normally wouldn't play.

Add champion mastery to all game modes. In fact, make champion mastery independent of game mode. Champ is a champ. Not just on the rift, Howling Abyss, Crystal Scar, et al.

Mastery is basically in Beta right now and completely pointless. They're adding more too it, it's quite likely you'll get points on the HA as well, eventually.

But if you do nothing but spam HA, and then go into a SR game, you won't really have them 'mastered' there. Because HA and SR are so different, and the playstyles are different.

Because ARAM is mostly luck. There's no skill leveling at all. You aren't going to be a good _____ in ARAM because you most likely won't be able to play _____ enough times for it to matter (unless you have an ARAM specific account which imo should not be allowed). Even if you do, it depends a lot on your teammates and the enemy and what champions they get.

And suddenly everyone has level 1 on half their roster without playing them outside ARAM. idk if thatd be a good or bad thing, but itd happen

LordTrevas6/1/2015, 6:51:05 PM1 votes

Stupid idea. Champion masteries should only happen in ranked, where you prove your worth, not it some backwardass mode where you can just horse around and still "get paid".

Considering the amount of games required to master a champion, coupled with the fact that you can't pick your champion in ARAM, I feel this would primarily only benefit ARAM only accounts (the people who ruined the game mode in the first place).

Therefor, I don't see a whole lot of benefit to this at all.

Really, this need to be added ASAP! I'm tired of SR. I don't like the gamemode or the harassment going on 24/7. Arams (Or at least at my high win ratio range) are free from these type of people, and it's incredibly rare i see toxic players.

So please let me enjoy this feature in arams, I have no interest in playing with toxic players in SR
