Riot Created Prisoner Island. Its called Normal Draft.

So people have often asked Riot to take the Dota approach of putting toxic elements into their own que together. Riot has consistently stated they refuse to do this at least in part because they believe it doesnt really help solve anything. I assume that means they think its better to try to reform players than just segregate the most toxic ones from everyone else.

Then they started a system of restricting people from ranked as a punishment and the way they lift that restriction is only by winning normal draft games. Riot argued that because the numbers of ranked restricted were such a small percentage of the player base that it wouldnt noticeably impact that quality of normal draft games. From my experience that has proven to be untrue.

I have not wanted to start ranked yet this season for a variety of reasons. That leaves me with my most played mode being normal draft. I really like having a draft phase and I think honing pick/ban strategies in normal draft mode is the best way for me to practice for my eventual return to ranked. I cant stand blind pick and Team Builders still takes too long to get a game going, even when I que up as support. I can only imagine how long it takes for other roles.

I have never seen normal draft in a worse state. Every other game has people raging or blatantly trolling from the start. I wish that was an exaggeration but its been amazingly bad. I am not sure if a new wave of people just got rank restricted over the last couple of weeks but it seems to have gotten markedly worse. People seem more angry to be stuck in normal draft than eager to win games and get back to ranked. This experiment seems to be an utter failure.

Riot has created a prisoner island, something they said they would not do, but even worse to do so they ruined a game mode that for many of us is our most played mode. So instead of a real prisoner island where the toxic folks can at least get a taste of their own medicine as a reward for their behavior, its actually a bunch of non-toxic folks that also bear the brunt of this.

So Riot, either create a real prisoner island that is reserved for only those being punished, or just scrap this whole approach all together. There is no possible way to justify punishing solely people who play normal draft because of toxic elements you cant figure out what to do with.

Riot honestly needs to just create a separate que for those players.

I'd like to see a report option in Champ Select. I dunno what else they can really do. Maybe implement some sort of good player rewards. Punishment is not always the answer when attempting behavior modification.

From what I understand what the 2/3 of trolls think from in-game. "Any mode that isn't ranked doesn't matter" So they troll, even if there are penalties, so what, it's not ranked so why care. I recently played a 3 top 1 mid 1 jungle, no adc. The 3 were a pre-made, saying "it's normal, it doesn't matter.

So...yea..

yeah, i'm not sure too what to feel that all the scum from ranked invaded my normal drafts... not sure if it even shortened queues since many people supposedly quit normal draft to avoid these new guys

I agree with this. It's more like struggling to win a Normal Draft game as it is. I mostly see no hope when my teammates feed when they blatantly get caught or fight against a higher level champions thinking they can outplay.

I would rather be locked with other toxic players because at least I know they'll try to win a game when locked in their own queue away from the general public Normal Draft, Blind, or Teambuilder. I think the punishment should just lock toxic players in their own queue. Can't play anything else until they're done.. May be hard, but it might annoy them enough to stop getting punished. Myself included.

League is infamous for how awful its community is, it has been for years, and Riot hasnt seen fit to make any meaningful efforts to fix the issue. It wont get better, I suggest you simply find a new game.

Riot has no solution and no intintion to address this issue, simply because it isnt costing them money at this point. What are the chances a staff member will comment on this thread? Or any thread that doesnt contain a healthy does of ass kissing?(just look at the history of staff replies, they are all on threads that suck up to Riot)

They are resting on their laurels, ignoring the issue that plagues the game (namely trolls, and afks), and swimming in the money from competitions and skin sales.

Saw on Reddit someone posted a link to an interview with Lyte talking about their player behavior systems. Funny part to me was they kept talking as if the Tribunal still existed and was an active part of those systems.

Maybe thats part of the problem. The tribunal has been MIA for over a year and in Riots mind its still plugging away doing its work. How log does it have to be down until they no longer refer to it as solving current problems?
