New SR causing eye strain

VampirePumpkin··3 votes·1,163 views

So I don't know how many other people are experiencing this problem but a few games in on the new SR in team builder and I can't play anymore. While the new map is gorgeous, there is not enough contrast between the character and the background. As a result I experienced eye strain from playing after a few games. Three games in and it was to the point where I could not longer play, I was so motion sick. I tried lowering my graphics, turning on character inking, changing my screen contrast. Nothing helped. Can there please be a contrast change or something in the map or champions? Much obliged.

Yeah, there's something about it that has been giving my eyes a hard time. I also feel like it gives a false sense of vision (especially on purple side) because of how much lighter everything is.

I mean, we've all played on the old map a great deal so we have gotten used to vision queues and now we have lost those vision queues so it will take quite a bit to get used to just for that. I however was quite shocked when I first started playing how flat everything felt compared to how lively the old rift was. I noticed energetically that my champ did match the new rift better in style... however after a while I realized it was actually harder to pick my character out of the environment. I think this will just improve with time played; I'm sure it was just as hard the first time I picked up the game as well.

I thought it might be a case of needing to adjust so I tried playing again today. Sure enough, I started getting sick. I think It may be related to motion sickness caused by the champions blending too well into the background, if that makes any sense. I didn't have the same problems on old rift when I started playing.

I am noticing this as I play as well, it feels as though my eyes are trying harder to focus on the map, and over the course of the game, I need to look away to let my eyes relax for a few seconds.

Havent had this issue yet, ive been playing for 8 hours straight. Maybe its because you arent used to what it looked like

Textures are flat, colors are under-saturated, etc. Not surprised some people are feeling eye strain.
