What are we doing, evaluating and discussing the idea, or making suggestions of our own? I'll do both.
My thoughts: All the active items are very expensive (or at least halfway expensive for
and the like), so reducing costs on active items would go a long way to making sure people actually get to benefit from the game mode.
Another mode: All items are free, but whatever you buy disappears after 5 minutes and cannot be obtained again (not including consumables). Items become available in shop again 20 minutes after they disappear. Items with stacks (kill/time/cast like

) retain stacks when you lose them and buy them after the resets.
