Idea for Improved Loss Forgiven

Please read the entire post before voting in the poll. Thank you!

I'm sure most people can agree that there's very few things more frustrating than losing a ranked game with an AFK player on your team and I have an idea that may help reduce the number of LP lost due to AFK players.

The Idea Add a "Vote for Loss Forgiven" button to the postgame lobby

Caveats 1. The "Vote for Loss Forgiven" button will only be available if a person on either team is AFK/Left the game for a predetermined amount of time. 2. The AFK player is not rewarded with a Loss Forgiven even if the vote passes

Criteria Required for Vote for Loss Forgiven to pass 7/10 Players vote to award the losing team a Loss Forgiven (Note: at least 1/10 players would be AFK and would be automatically in favor of the Loss Forgiven; See caveat 1 above)

What will this accomplish? Three things: 1. Players are less likely to be toxic to the enemy team knowing that they have some power in approving a Loss Forgiven 2. Players are less likely to get upset during the game and less likely to be toxic in future games after receiving a Loss Forgiven for a game that was lost due to circumstances out of their control 3. Players that go AFK/leave game to try to "punish" their teammates are less likely to AFK/Leave the game knowing that they could be potentially the only ones to be punished

Q&A 1. Question: What's to stop someone on the losing team from going AFK to get a Loss Forgiven? 1. Answer: The Loss Forgiven is not a guarantee. Not only do you need your team to vote, but you will also need at least 2 votes from the opposing team. Also, the AFK player is punished by not being awarded a Loss Forgiven therefore there is still incentive to attempt to turn the game around and win.

2. Question: Why would the winning team vote to award a Loss Forgiven to the losing team? 2. Answer: It'd be hard to find a player that can't empathize with the situation that the AFK player put their team in. We've all been on a team with an AFK teammate and been "punished" for it.

3. Question: Won't this make players more likely to AFK knowing that their team will most likely not be punished? 3. Answer: The Tribunal will still be in effect to punish players that regularly go AFK/leave the game.

TL;DR - Institute a Vote for Loss Forgiven button to Ranked Solo Queue endgame lobbies

Think of this idea as an Alpha Phase Idea... the groundwork is laid, we just need some people to pick it apart to make it more well rounded. Please feel free to comment or provide constructive feedback.

every game left should count as 2 losses not 1

I love the idea, but we will inevitably have people harassing their teammate/teammates to get them to go AFK if they are losing in order to have the ability to try and get that Loss Forgiven vote.

The enemy team would not see this harassment occurring, and thus still give the Loss Forgiven if the team does manage to get someone to go AFK/DC.

Riot cannot implement any system that results in one team losing less LP and/or MMR while the other team gains full LP/MMR. This creates "inflation" of LP/MMR over time that screws up the Ranked ladder.

You could allow such a vote if it also reduced the LP/MMR gains of the winning team. But I can't see very many people going for that in Ranked play.

I think that loss forgiven should automatically given to teams with disconnecting players due to low pings, errors, etc. If somebody manually disconnects or goes afk, losses will not be forgiven. I do support the ability to have the Tribunal review appeals to LF for any other reason than uncontrollable disconnecting.
