The First Step to Competitive ARAM

Honestly I've been playing Aram for awhile now. And I love the mode. What would be the step into trying to make it competitive/tournament play. Hopefully this page gets looked at and isn't over shadowed because there is a lot of people that play Aram. I've recently feel like I've reached to the top because majority of all my games are now hosted and I keep playing with people that are up there too. Every game is good I see the skills in every player and would like to see more out of me and the thousand of other players that play Aram as well. Would love to see rankings and tournament play for Aram. I guess this is the first step. So show your support if you would like to see rankings and tournament play so maybe we can get this going!

I support!

Already play in ARAM tournaments. Have won 4000 RP so far ^_^. There IS a method to the madness. It isn't "oh it's just ARAM". There are ways to win. Yes, you can get hosed by the RNG, but that's the breaks. But these days, it's not as simple as "oh they got Ziggs/Kog/Sona/Galio, they win". Snowball + warmogs makes a lot of games a lot closer than they would be otherwise. Worst to worst, you go health/level yellows, start off tanky item (sunfire/randuins/dead man's plate/banshees/locket/visage), Black Cleaver/Titanic Hydra, or RoA into warmogs, and just clear waves. The only way you can be well and truly screwed is if you have so little waveclear that your towers first 2 turrets go down in 10 minutes.

Step 1: Open up the whole pool for ranked ARAM Step 2: Remove individual RRs and allow for a team-wide RR for ranked

I think these two steps go a long way toward putting the game on an even footing. I don't expect balance out of ARAM, but I think a fair, even playing field is the proper way to do this.

I voted yes, but only on condition that rerolls are gone, all champs opened, and bans are implemented.

No.

Step 1 is to get ranked Dominion settled and fully supported as the actual competitive mode of the game.

Then we get normals ARAM balanced with:

A new champion select system, (full pool is only one option for a balanced version of this)

Dodge penalty revamp: MMR loss for dodging Penalty applies against time spent logged in. Penalty decay only over a number of completed games, not free daily reset.

And then we can look into getting it more competitive. Tournaments would need to be large round-robin with many games per set tho. Elimination is a no-go for ARAM. Even after the balancing, the only measure of skill is consistency over large numbers of games. You need a big enough sample for the randomness to even out.

Stop trying to make the fun game modes competetive. Just more reasons for people to yell at their teammates

I feel like it'd need to be rebalanced again. Right now Aram is balanced in such a way as to give the stronger comp an easier time closing out the game. This was done by adding the 4 HP buffs, one of which is easily stolen if your team's early comp is strong enough. The nexus and inhib towers also have no HP regen at all, making it much easier to win the game over time. For awhile they even removed one of the Nexus towers. Right now the game mode heavily favors the team with the strongest early game, I feel it'd need better balancing for it to be more competitively viable.

Ofcourse maybe Mark does a lot to balance that out now since the old early weaks were the team's that benefited the most from Mark.

I think it would need a bit of additional balancing to make the mode fair. Soraka (just an example) usually heals for what others do in damage. Some champs need serious addressing to make the mode at least a bit balanced. I have played 1500+ games of ARAM. Would play a competitive mode though :D

This would be great, half my friends mostly only play ARAMS now.

I still don't see how you can have a fair, balanced non-luck based ELO with a random factor.

Remember when Tabi's had a % based evade and that was considered uncompetitive because of luck factor? Anyone?!
