Add a "For Fun" Game Mode?

So, some of my friends just started playing LoL. The problem? I'm level 25, and they're not yet over level 10, yet they also have some level 30 friends. (Which is probably the quickest way to ever kill a new game for someone, play with or against a 30.) So after a few custome matches the newer ones were fairly annoyed at the level 30s, since the gap between 30 and 29 is huge enough as we all know... Try 5 and 30... Really becomes no fun... And then I realized, "Oh, no... In just 5 levels I'll be taking all the fun out of this game for my friends too! D: ", and as much as I really wanna buy stuff, that fear is really why I don't, so this all made me thinking...

"What if there was a game mode that didn't use Masteries, Runes, etc? Where levels didn't even matter." Thus I am here, to request such a game mode. Not all of us are into the "Hardcore Ranked" gameplay, and I think I'd have a lot more fun if I could have a pure match of fun instead of getting pummeled by the occasional 30 with amazing runes, or having them carry the entire AI match from start to finish while 4 of us do nothing... I'd also be a lot more likely to spend since even if I'm not good with a character, I can still have fun playing in with friends playing in an awesome skin (whereas at my current level, I get repeatedly yelled at for not being "ubersuperduberpropro" with that character when I use cool skins). >.>

So, basically I was thinking, maybe there could be a "For Fun" button next to "Play Now", or something that would allow us the normal map options, minus the Masteries, Runes, and any other thing that Level grants. Preferably it would still give IP and EXP so you could have fun leveling your friends and training in a non-lvl-30-rofl-stomp environment. Hopefully you could get IP for use on champions still. ("For Fun" would allow both PvP and PvAI, to add the most variety for the fun, also they wouldn't interfere with normal ranked stuff.) For Fun mode would NOT be custom mode, though it could perhaps be added as a setting in Custom as well. Since Custom Mode still uses levels, masteries, runes, etc. you still have the 'lvl-30-rofl-stomp' effect, so I'd really hope this would be a separate button but still give IP and EXP, but will not affect ranking at all. (To be honest, really hardcore players could use it as a "True test of skill" since Masteries and Runes are out, it'd purely be skill, not settings.) AND it would also filter out the people playing for fun in your training for league play... (Bonus for you hardcore players? ;D )

If this got added I'd honestly probably never stop playing this game, since I love League, I just really don't like how horridly it does the whole "playing with friends" bit... x.x;

The problem with a "casual" or "laid-back" or "fun" queue is that frustrated Ranked players or skilled trolls will deliberately join it to stomp new/bad players. Not having runes/masteries will not stop them from being able to destroy someone who's only played a handful of games.

You mentioned people going into AI matches to "comp stomp" as being un-fun as well. People ALREADY go into beginner bots to rack up more kills than Intermediate, despite getting less IP for doing so. They'll do it in that mode too if it means they get weaker teammates and can get even more kills.

Normals is the laidback "fun" queue. keep your fun to normals, and your business in ranked. that's how i go about it anyway.

I'm not sure what's stopping you from using a blank rune page and a blank mastery page in custom games and play with your friends o_o....... You don't need a new account and you can still use your skins. Your friends just won't have flash for a while and you can very much just take whatever summoner spells that are available to you at whatever level you want to pretend to be. Problem solved?

The true difference is your skill level. When I first started playing, beginner bots roflstomped me and I had 9 or 10 deaths per game in my first week. Now I can 30+/0/x beginner bots on a level 5 account with no runes or masteries. I honestly think you are looking in the wrong places for a solution to your specific situation lol.

Well, runes and masteries will give some noticeable advantage to people with access to tier 3 runes, but as others have mentioned, skill level difference will play far more of a role. There is a lot of things to learn in League, and smurf accounts are able to dominate even without any runes and mastery. If you have this "For Fun" mode, the level 30 players will probably crush the new players, unless the game mode makes it much more difficult for the veteran players with, say less gold per CS (with more passive gold generation for newer player), no wards (while low level players get more vision), and so on. Could be an interesting mode, but without the handicap, the skill difference will just be too great to make it not very fun for everyone involved (unless the veteran players enjoy stomping newer players... which will probably be what most people play the mode for).

I guess Doombots probably would have been a great mode to play with new players (well, at least level 1 doom bot). There is always bot matches to help new players get used to the game.

And if you really want to play with newer players, making a smurf account is probably the best option... yeah, you won't have as many champions and will probably be limited to free champion rotation ones + the three free ones, but it will probably be a much nicer experience than playing on our main account and getting into matches that are strangely balanced. But it will only be temporary, and if your friends like the game enough, it won't take them too long to level up to 30.

The Problem is, that it wont help you if the lvl 30 player cant use his masteries and runes. He's still WAY more experienced than you and your friends and will crush you anyway.

LoL is one of the games where matchmaking works almost all of the time, leave it at that.

And i created a NEW ACCOUNT, ONLY FOR THE GAMES I DID WITH MY FRIEND UNTIL HE WAS LVL 30, THAT WAS CERTAINLY NO PROBLEM.
