A New Game Mode Idea
LoL - Impostor Game Mode Idea
Basic principles:
- Played on Summoner's Rift
- 5 players per team, champions are drafted, although with one person on each team playing the "Impostor"
- All rules/guidelines from Classic still apply
The Impostor
One person on each team plays as the Impostor instead of a chosen champion. The Impostor is a champion itself with a unique passive and very unique abilities. Each ability may be cast once at any time from the beginning of the game.
Passive: The Impostor appears to enemies and allies as the champion that owns the ability most recently used. Stats remain unchanged when switching appearance.
Q: The Impostor replaces this ability with the Q ability of any target allied champion. W: The Impostor replaces this ability with the W ability of any target allied champion. E: The Impostor replaces this ability with the E ability of any target allied champion. R: The Impostor replaces this ability with the R ability of any target allied champion. (The Impostor may only take one ability from any one ally champion.)
Once abilities are selected, they can be scaled with leveling up the same way it would happen on a normal champion.
Basic attacks of the Impostor are identical in look and function as they would for whatever champion the Impostor appears to be from his/her passive.
Random Ramblings
Have you ever wondered how a fight might look with a champion that has both Pantheon's W, Riven's Q, and Katarina's ult? Well now you can have it all, on one champion!
With the intense level of customization suggested by this mode, I could foresee a large number of strategies to be employed, such as creating the ultimate jungler or someone super annoying with an insane amount of stuns. The possibilities are endless!
I particularly think the passive could be interesting. If you'd change game rules so that names/enemy summoner levels/ect couldnt give someone away, the Impostor could be able to, for example, pretend he's Rammus with very low attack damage, then Q into Master Yi's Alpha Strike for a surprise engage, and use Morgana's ult to finish them off. I would love to see different combos pulled off through different team comps.
Of course, the idea needs a large amount of tweaking and polishing, such as how the Impostor would look before even using an ability and how different abilities use different secondary bars such as mana/energy/rage.
Let me know your ideas or what you think! Thanks
