True custom games

Well, having played LoL for about...a year now? I've gotten to play a lot of the really REALLY fun game modes (URF, All for One, Doom bots.), but while I had fun with these varying modes, I was sad to see them go after a week or two of being in the live environment. So, what I propose here, is the option to let us truly customize custom games. Put in various settings for the map we pick. Wanna set Global Cooldowns to 100% on all spells? Done. Just check the CDR box, wanna set it so the AI Bots on the enemy team are Doom Bot level of difficulty? Done, just set the difficulty scale. Set the rules to allow players to face off against a team of 5 Teemos? I dunno why you'd want that, but sure a check box in there stating same champs can be picked. I'm not saying "Hey regular pvp should be like this" or that these particular modes need to be brought back (Though admittedly I'd love it if any of the three made returns, including Hexakill which I missed out on sadly). I'm just saying, perhaps we could use some features in the custom games to allow us, to tinker with things that wouldn't normally be seen in actual pvp/bot games. While still of course using the coding and mechanics that already exist within LoL from previous patches and updates.

If you watch the Ultra Rapid Fire preview video you will notice that it is said that urf will become the FUTURE of lol (most likely hinting that it will be out forever in the 5th season)

I find that custom games would be an awesome addition like lets say you wanted to test out a build. Instead of farming for 20-30 minutes you can set in the prefrences to start with specific amount of gold to infinity. But don't you think even thought it would be super fun that 100% cooldown would litterly mean jinx ulting endlessly and Ashe too infact everything would be too op and no fun to play against especially the darn Lux

I'd like to chime in and state that what you want is a Sandbox mode, and not to change custom games. Customs are just a way to play a game mode where you decide who's on both teams. Actually modifying in-game variables would require a sandbox gameplay mode.

On that note, certain things like 100% CDR are pretty stressful on the server, since it has to do a lot of calculations multiple times per second, where it would normally only do them every few seconds at the least. It would ultimately make lag issues worse.

For things like unlimited gold, I certainly think that would be an interesting asset to have. So, if we ever get a sandbox mode, I'd like to see that. It definitely makes things easier for testing builds, but I don't think the demand is high enough for Riot to put in all the work it will take.

I hadn't actually considered the CDR causing that much stress, though in retrospect, it most likely would cause some serious lag issues. To be clear though, I said 100% as a random number that popped to my mind. I also didn't know that custom games were used for that, as I use them as a way to pick what bots I'm playing off against with friends, or to practice jungling with a few friends on both teams. I also tend to think of 'custom' as basically what you called sandbox, things that let me customize them.

Still, I've gotten off track here. My original point was that the coding for a lot of the things in my original post (with the exception of actually being able to turn them on in whatever mode we're in) is already done, and it seems a waste to just not use it again. That said, I'm also not sure on what goes on behind the scenes for making those particular modes work, or how they effect the servers. For all I know, something as simple as having 5 of the same champion on a map causes the servers to freak out and go into red alert. Or it could be like just another day at the office for it.

After reading some of the comments, I can agree 100% CDR can be a tad taxing on systems, but I would like a more customizable experience in playing custom games. I would suggest however that the customization you can make to a custom game should be limited to a range; for instance:

Starting Gold = 50 - 2000g (or something along the lines) Starting level = 1 - 6 (or 18, whatevs) Individual Base Stats (CDR = 0% - 80%; Move Speed 10% - 75%; Attack Speed = blah - blah, etc and so on) Ability to turn off items (just a thought to make a challenging game experience with friends)

Essentially, a way to manage different aspects of the game to make custom games feel customizable.
