Baron Nashor & Dragon HP Bars in the new Summoner's Rift
I don't think that the exact number of Dragon and Baron's health should be displayed above their health bars in the updated Summoner's Rift. Steals will take far less risk and will be less exciting to watch or experience without the skill/chance factors that come with smite fights. One of the biggest things that separates good junglers from great ones is how much attention they pay to the health in order to steal/protect the objective.
Putting the number in plain sight will basically set a handicap for the less observant junglers that don't bother clicking on the monster to find the most opportune time to dive into the baron pit and make a game changing play. I've noticed this change in the PBE, and I don't think it should stick around for when it goes live.
Update: Red and Blue buffs are included also. I really just don't see the point to any of it.
2019 Update: I've played much less heavily in the past few years. Adulting takes its toll. I just wanted to come through and admit that the HP bar change really hasn't changed gameplay all that much.
As I predicted, it's easier to smite steal now with all the numbers right in front of you. However, it's something that every player benefits from equally. Also, if I said I dislike the smite damage indicator, I'd be lying. The game only feels more streamlined, and I'm dunking on enemy junglers like I always have. You're still the GOAT, Riot. I don't care what they say about you. RIP to my homie Mythlandir.
