How About a 180 Map Rotator?
There is a huge unfair advantage for the blue side. How hard could it be to make a 180 rotation? it effects how I play, and probably many others. Is this to much to ask for?

Problem: "top" and "bot" meta. Or maybe that's not a problem because personally I think that would be great. Alternatively, rotate the map 45 degrees so it's camera-unbiased like Twisted Treeline and Crystal Scar.
Not to mention top and bot still exist. Just because you see it from a different angle does not make it a different place.
Really good idea at first I thought of the summoner spells being at the top. IT wouldn't make the game look different but feel so much better when youre trying to land skillshots
Not helpfull enough
If half of the players are rotated 180 degrees, one team's bot is the other team's top. Normally this wouldn't matter, except for the purposes of the meta. You can't have two bruisers go "top" because which team's "top" do you use? It would be awfully confusing to have to call bot top and top bot for half your games.
Just call dragon lane or baron lane. Or 2 bush lane, 3 bush lane. It's not hard to come up with names for two different things that have a few different qualities.
No, turtle's idea is enough. Let's rotate the rift in each individual players favor. I think that should do it.
make a different thread for something like this, here, we are talking about 180 degree real, effective map rotation, if you want to talk about what you just posted, then log in league of 45s and talk about 45 degree rotation on their 45 degree rotaion thread, this is 180 degree rotaion, make a new thread
Riot if only one thing happens I would want this. Or at the very least for the red side put the spells and everything on the top. plz riot plz
That is a brilliant idea and you're the first person I've heard say that. Putting the abilities and hud on the top is not something I ever thought of, but I do think the maps should be rotated so they are always going left to right. The angle the camera is in is perfectly designed to see out into the distance on the blue side, but completely limits your view of blue side when you're on red side. This is something that should've been thought about before the game got out of the beta honestly. If they're making changes to the visuals on the map to make it less symmetrical, you should tilt the map to be more symmetrical in a structural point-of-view.
That is actually quite interesting and I think it's the easiest fix to the issue.
No, were not putting spells and items on top
Full support. I don't see why this wouldn't be able to be incorporated.
This would be great for playing ADCs like
,
,
, etc.
yup
PLEASE MAKE THIS 180 MAP ROTATION THING HAPPEN RIOT
oh so I'm NOT the only person that wants this. I'd really like to see it go the way of twisted treeline's map angle if they are overhauling the maps appearance anyways. I seriously cant do unlocked camera, its too hard to pay attention to my character and where I am looking at the same time and I have tried.
1000 times yes.
I've been considering this for a while, I definitely think this should be implemented since blue side seems to have such a good advantage over red side currently :P.
PLEASE add this!
I like this for the purpose of skill shots in the bot lane it would be super usefull
this is a good Idea so its like your playing on the blue side but actually your on the red side? also what about the baron and dragon?
Dragon would be on the top side of the map and baron would be on the bottom if the map was rotated. Also, would the minimap rotate with the actual map?
There's a guy who made an application that did exactly this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUk3jJd-IX0
As you can see, everything looks just fine, but the bushes aren't textured on the opposite side, and the minimap doesn't rotate. That's about it. Some random schmuck did this, so you can do it too riot.
they would rotate too, so adc/suport would always have dragon side, and "top" would always have its corrisponding side too, lacated at lane closest to baron
I don't really think that is even necessary. If riot could just switch the UI with minimap up to the top of the screen it would alleviate a lot of the space that get's used up at the bottom of the screen or maybe even allow players to toggle off the portions so they can free up that space if they feel the need.
You might think that that would solve some stuff, but there would still be a disadvantage, since the camera is tilted. The amount of space you see is larger at the top than at the bottom, no matter what you do. Here, I'll post a video with two parts. First is a guys who found a program that lets you move the camera around at your leisure. Second is him using wards to map out on his minimap exactly what you see from your camera. You'll see.
Your missing the point
This would be amazing. Casting my vote in for this.
With the new map this isn't a problem anymore. They changed the angle so blue side isn't so much at a disavantage when aiming skillshot toward the bottom of the screen.
no, purple has a current disadvantage, not blue
I doubt Riot will make a 180 degree turn for the map because they would have to re make the images for all the terrain since its a 2D game view and you would be looking at it from the other side. But as they already said they are fixing the angle of the camera so it will be even on both sides so you will have the same view on red side as you would with blue.
I still don't like the sound of that. It needs to be completely even.
oh please please please fix the hideousness that is purple side bottom camera! It's an unlock your camera or jokes on you situation. I can't play having to flick the camera around constantly just to be able to aim a skill shot.
I think being able to make the game relative to the player would benefit the most. I know that I play a lot better and enjoy the game more from the blue side rather than the red. I also play ARAM a lot and feel the same way about that map. If I am going from the top down I am moving my screen way too much and missing out on opportunities to make good plays, or I completely lose my champion and die.
In my opinion, being on purple/blue, with the HUD, etc, being in the way, is way too insignificant for ranked play. There is the option of hitting "SPACE" to reset your camera, along with free-roam. This is not a vital, game-impacting issue.
They already have 360 map rotator :) and from simple math we know 360 is more than 180. So, riot already did more for you! stop whining :P
you're a noob. It's been years since they took back 360 and released 720.
They can't. The backsides of the trees are black.
Well they are making a whole new map, just make an alternate map for the other team. Same map drawn from other perspective. I am sure there are other ways of doing it, but this is something that I have wanted for quite some time. Many of my friends have expressed similar desires.
I like that idea ^^
While I think it would be super beneficial, and the community has been nonstop asking for it, after Riot released they were updating SR they said multiple times that a camera flip would not be happening. It is unfortunate.
With such overwhelming support, and barely any people stepping out against the camera flip and supporting the HUD changes, I don't understand why Riot doesn't realize that they should take constructive criticism like this from the community as a whole. I don't think Riot should constantly be focused on high level play, but as the community of League of Legends is as a whole. I find eSports has caused most of Riot to cater to high-level play and, frankly, it disgusts me. This is still a game people should be playing to have fun or compete against friends in. Having the map structurally symmetrical and camera symmetrical should be something they should realize most League of Legends players want to happen. It isn't fair to have advantages on one team over the other, plain and simple, regardless of how small those are. They explain away the advantages in eSports with each team gets to play on each side alternating, but It should not make a difference, and it would make it less of a debate as to which side could give you the lead in eSports especially. It will come down to players and teams working together, not which side is better.
just cause a few hundred to a thousand complain does not mean that you are a showing of the majority point of view. I would say it shows how much of a minority you actually are.
I would say you the support of the people is less than 1% which is quite underwhelming. Their are over 1 million active accounts in ranked NA alone.
link to where i got the stat. http://www.lolsummoners.com/stats/na
Just cause u are unhappy does not mean that a majority are with you.
The thing is, only a handful of people take the time to come to the forums and voice their opinion. If anything, you can take the percent representation here and apply it to the whole of the community meaning that actually, you are wrong. That's how scientific sampling works. Not perfectly accurate, but certainly a good way to make an educated guess as to the opinion of the whole group.
When you think about it, its not all that unfair... During champ select, each team has a 50/50 chance of getting purple or blue. It's not like you are the tipping point... Sure there is a small advantage but really its nobody's advantage to be abused seeing as the amount of times you'll get blue is 50/50. Every game won, 50% on blue and 50% on red. It's my way of looking at it so hey..I could be wrong though
See, the thing is, it's not fair. Blue side actually has a statistically higher win percentage than purple.

Sure, if the side you are on is a 50/50 chance, that means that your overall record will still remain around 50/50 w/l, but that doesn't mean it's fair for the purple side. In ranked 5v5's, there's a 6% difference in win rates. That's statistically huge for a game that's supposed to be fair for both teams.

I'm glad you brought that up. Good call
Simply 'Mirroring' the map would make this entirely possible, the whole map is perfectly symmetrical, mirror the game for each side so that the camera angle is exactly the same for both sides. its true that one side has a big advantage over the other side, mostly for view, you can see a lot more from blue side than from purple
I never really found this to be much of a problem. I guess it hadn't occurred to me that people locked their screens. I hope if they do change it, they make it a toggle, because I'm fine the way it is.
