Super serious pants on guys, I've got some ideas here for new maps and modes and crap that'll blow your mind LITERALLY. (That literally was figurative). Below, you'll find some money making ideas akin to really good money making ideas, and, with a little tweaking (obviously, because what the hoozah, do you think I could balance game modes? I'm an idiot!), you could turn these words into cash monaaaaaay $$$
(For reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDOhiK2a8t8 - Warning, innapropriate language. Viewer discretion is advised. Like seriously, I couldn't find a squirrel version without language. Sorry.)
Sub-par squirrel rapping aside, down below, there's a low-down.
Basically, the idea behind all of these is expanding on the world of Runeterra in really unique ways, while providing gameplay twists that freshen up the MOBA genre. Dominion is the leading inspiration for all of this, becuase while it isn't as popular as the standard game mode, its still a fresh unique, relatively-balanced game mode (I say relatively balanced because, I'll be honest, I have no idea how well balanced it is, so I figured I'd just take a neutral stance).
Super Awesome Game Mode #001:
The Arena
The Premise: Bored with the standard league matches, a small group of fans wanted something a little more... Erratic. Catering to their needs, a rich, erratic yordle genius created The Arena, an Arena (MEGAPLOTTWIST) that takes the standard game and inserts obscene amounts of random chance to make things a little less coherent, fair, and boring.
The Specifics:
Monsters would be (ideally) replaced with brand new monsters that do basically the same thing, and give the same bonuses, its just they're robots. But they're better. Totally.
Baron Nashor --> Giga Yordle Dragon --> Mecha Dragon Wolves --> Robo Wolves Wraiths --> Metal Wraiths Golems --> Iron Golems You get the idea.
Now, this is where the variance comes in:
(Doctor Automaton - Gives Permanent Health Buff) (Assault Automaton - Gives Permanent Attack Buff) (Armored Automaton - Gives Permanent Defense Buff) (Intellectual Automaton - Gives Permanent Ability Power Buff) (Magic Hating Automaton - Gives Permanent Magic Resist Buff) (Speedy Automaton - Gives Permanent Movement Speed Buff) (Ultra Automaton - Gives a Permanent Buff to All stats listed above)
"WTP (poro) is this ****?1?!?" You may be asking, but let me explain. In the spirit of random bullfeces, these fellows would appear randomly running around the map, and yes, whoever gets the kill on them gets the PERMANENT stat buff. Idk how much the buff would be, but does it really matter? It's supposed to be obscene anyway.
"But how will it be determined when and where these stupid pieces of crap appear?" You must be asking yourself. Well, here is where I introduce the feature that makes this game mode really fun. THE ROULETTE (patent pending).
THE ROULETTE (patent pending) can do many things, all of which are random and occur at random intervals between 10 seconds and 1 minute (or whatever time intervals, I don't care. More would be more fun, just saying). These effects could do many things, such as: 1.) Spawn automatons 2.) Turn the river into a lava river that hurts whoever walks on it 3.) Turns on fans that speeds up movement speed when walking in one direction in a lane, slows it down for the other direction. 4.) Universal vision loss. 5.) Team-specific vision loss. 6.) In-game item buffs, and item nerfs. (Random AP on Bloodthirster? Active cooldown increases? Attack speed on mana crystal?) 7.) Buffs to jungle monsters? 8.) A giant roaming death machine that executes anyone it catches? 9.) The point is anything can happen that makes the game random, unfair, and thus fun.
Also if you release the guy who made the Arena as a champion, he could have a Railgun. That'd be fun.
So, you might be thinking, "Gee, this seems like a gamemode that rewards sheer dumb luck, and was probably orchestrated by some skill-less kid who can't win when things are fair". Well SHUT UP, DAD, THESE NEXT FEW GAME MODES REQUIRE SKILL AND INNOVATION, SO GET OFF OF MY BACK, I'M A COMPETENT MAN WHO CAN HOLD A JOB!!!
Super Mega Awesome Game Mode #02
Outpost
The Premise: You know, for such an awesome world where literally anything can happen, the lore explores a depressing amount of it. Although it might be because I'm bad, the lore and world-building potential here really gets me all hot and bothered, so you should embrace tons more of it. Most of these under-developed places are below the Great Barrier. This game-mode focuses on the Tempest Flats. It's established in the lore that due to the massive catastrophe that was the previous Rune War (thus the whole league thing). However, the unintended consequences of all-out warfare probably left some stuff behind that is exceedingly powerful and dangerous, and thus, this section of the Tempest Flats is the perfect setting. So, what is the twist?
A randomly generated maze!
I have no idea if its even practical at all to suggest a map that is randomly generated every game, but you can just sit back and deal with it while I propose. The map. Not a marriage. Yeah.
Admittedly, this is my least favorite idea out of the bunch (I'm just listing them in random order TBH), but bare with me.
So, you start out with a blacked out map (sort of like an RTS which is WHERE THE MOBA SERIES GETS ITS ROOTS #NEXTLEVEL), and you, along with your allies, venture out into the map, finding your way through the maze to the enemy base, defeating monsters (without minions for now). Once you make your way to the enemy base, your minions will make their way through the maze through your path.
The main twist would be, that there is every few minutes (semi-randomly, so that people can't predict it), there is a monster (summoned during the war to destroy armies) that can capture champions. If you get captured, your friends have to make their way to the monster through the maze and defeat it. If every champion gets captured, everyone is killed, and starts back in their base with an erased map.
Yeah, its a bit odd, but mostly it would give you California-dwellers a chance to expand the lore below the Great Barrier.
Pretty Neato-Burrito Game Mode #3
Capture the Runestone
The Premise:
Get it? Like... Capture the Flag? Yeah, it's basic, but basically its set in the jungle (an actual jungle, not like the fraudulent one on SR), where really powerful runestone-generators were found (remnants of the Rune War), and each team has to try and find the generated runestone in the enemy's side of the jungle and bring it back to their base. (I guess brush would be involved, so Nidalee/Rengar OP?) It would create a really interesting dynamic to have the farming to get more powerful combined with the vision control (which would have to be changed a bit to fit the game mode) and protection, as well as trying to make a play on the enemy when one of their champs gets caught out or something. More below the Great Barrier Lore as well! Yay!
Gold-Deluxe Edition Game Mode D.)
Void Waves
The legend of Icathia is something of an enigma, and I'm assuming that it's being kept that way for the reason, but I'm here to make suggestions, not cater to the decisions of the people I'm trying to convince to cater to my suggestions! Basically, (LORE EXPANSION INCOMING), somebody discovers Icathia (Ezreal because He's an Explorer+He's Popular+New Skin?=Profit$$$) and soon after, due to a prophecy or some crap, there is an outpouring of ravenous, evil void creatures. The League, of course, contains it with magic, but unless a band of five champions goes in to clear it out a bit, it might get a little bit out of hand.
Now. Let me just say: Yes, this is kiiiind of a CoD zombies thing. But, as someone who sucks willie at any first persons shooter, that cooperative survival scpheel was the only thing I ever enjoyed about CoD. So. With that in mind:
Different items, perhaps scalings, that keep each champion relevant as the waves progressively get harder. Perhaps defenses can be upgraded? People can buy team-wide buffs? Along with waves of void creatures, there could also be bosses that come through and mess people up. And yes, you'd still be able to play the void champs, because they're under the league's control. So there.
The one thing that I've always been consistently impressed with is the lore that is produced by the team, but this has always been limited to champions and that Freljord event... If you go about world-building, then there can be this huge untapped potential-place that sets the scale for there being a Riot Games instead of Riot Game, just saying. I was ranked Silver IV last season, you can take my word for it.
But yeah, I really enjoy this game, even with the balance quirks, even if some people think otherwise, you guys have done at the least a decent job. Also, I will take my reward in RP, that's fine.
P.S. Client optimization pls
