The Hunter Limited Edition Gamemode

One person is randomly selected as the Hunter. The Hunter gets flash with no cooldown and 9999 damage, but only 1 health. It all takes place on one large map where you have to pay 10 riot cash to spawn/respawn, and you get 10 riot cash/kill. Everyone would fight each other probably, so the Hunter could sneak up on them and kill everyone. If you kill the Hunter, you become a hunter and the previous hunter becomes a normal player. The game would be ongoing and you could join in or leave at any time. Anyway, I'm pretty sure the guys at Riot will blow me off because "that's such a stupid idea", but it's a win-win really. Riot earns money because plenty of people will buy riot cash so they can go battle more, and normal players can earn loads of riot cash, with some practice. If I can get enough players behind me maybe we can make this an actual thing :)

Terrible idea, sorry. Paying RP for anything other than vanity items will never fly in this game, and Riot has been so successful for that exact reason. The rest of the game mode could be ok without the extreme outlier champions like karthus who could cheese hardcore. Also it would kind of need its own custom map.

Honestly I wouldn't hate the idea if you weren't asking people to pay RP for respawns. As is though I would probably quit playing if this game mode came out.

Well, the point is that people pay for respawns like you would pay to enter the lottery IRL. If you do well, you are actually gaining RP, not losing it. It's skill-based, like many other games. Plus, new players start with (I think? been a while since i joined) 400 RP, so they could play 40 games without paying a dime. And as for your last comment, it wouldn't be available all the time, and wouldn't give you IP or XP so you couldn't progress just playing it. It would just be a fun arena to join if you had some time to spare and wanted to earn some quick RP. Also it might be interesting to have vanity item streak bonuses.

By saying you'll quit if they add a beta gamemode that would be only available for a limited time just shows just how little you're invested in this game. So go ahead, whine about how you're leaving, but it only makes the community value your opinion less. Spend more time making a reasonable argument. I have to say I never expected to hear a LEVEL 30 player say something like that.

It isn't that he would leave for them adding a beta game mode but for going down a less Free to play route. Once you need to pay to get in that puts a pay wall up and for a lot of people that is big detractor from a game. Not only because of that instance but it means that the company may do a bigger game mode or change to the game later that requires paid access as well.

I see your point, but I really don't think that's going to be an issue. It would be free to play for the first 40 games (like I said in the above comment, and it would be along side the normal gameplay, so It wouldn't interfere with normal gameplay (because of the no XP or IP earned in game). If it was a big enough issue, earning RP might be changed to earning some sort of token that could ONLY be exchanged for vanity items. If you'd give this thread an upvote, we can get some more feedback. Thanks!

You could also swap out the need to pay rp to play as well as paying with some kind of token. For example earning them through normals, arams, 3v3, etc. Such as every 5-10 games you earn a token or x amount of tokens. You could even get bonus tokens for wins and such (or just earn through x amount of wins). It takes away the whole pay to play functionality and mentality out of the equation.

I like the idea, but I think it would discourage Riot Games from actually implementing this, seeing as there wouldn't be any clear monitary gain from it. Maybe pay RP for health boosts? Also, to even it out, the hunter wouldn't be able to use anything but their basic attack (meelee or ranged, depending on champion) and maybe a 2-3s invis/invinc spell with a 120s cooldown. Another idea: the Hunter can spawn in super minions to distract other champions?
