Give the inhibitors a meaning

Inhibitors have an very important impact to the outcome of the game. If there are no inhibitors destroyed, the nexus cant be destroyed. For that reason there should be an animation, showing that the inhibtors affect the nexus. For example there could be a line of runes from the inhibitors to the nexus in the ground, forming a protective runeshield if all inhibs are up.

Maybe have like an energy line of some sort going from the inhib to the nexus? Then when a inhib is down then the line dies? then it could slowly recharge the line until its back at the inhib then you kinda have a better clue on when your inhibitors spawn

yus! that way in bronze league my teammates wont stand there by the nexus wondering wtf is going on while i try to kill the inhib again

What about like how we should be pushing LoL community into trying to play in a solo jungler mid 2-1-2 no "jungler" gameplay? That fast team's mid player will get the first turret destroy in his lane. That could connect "first turret destroyed" to the inhibitors! Maybe show, a sort of... partial 1/3 2/3 3/3 on the inhibitors health bar(the bar 3/3 pertaining to how many turrets in that lane still live/stand)? Ok so: maybe a line on the ground (rune-term to connect special buildings) from the nexus to front turret through each turret and the inhibitor on the way. This new line will "turn off" when you kill a special building (3/3 turrets and 1/1 inhibitor in one lane) on a rune line through each special building. Dude or, at least give the inhibitor a 3/3 health bar for the turret's it guards'. SO IF THAT inhibitor is out IT'S RUNE LINE, turns OFF. That way you'd easily be able to see - in a last stand - if an inhibitor is up or down from the 2 turrets and nexus spot in close fights! You could show it incrementing from 90% on to complet, or some cool dig idk .. on that lol. But I really feel like each turret in lane is very important at getting to an enemy inhibitor. I always try to kill the LAST turret in lane - and quickly running to an allie's lane - before killing the inhibitor. So the turret's are like. what allows me to get to the enemy inhib's. So if I'm first and I'm mid, we can easily end the game 'hyper fast' by downing the last 3 outer turrets all at the same time before destroying an enemy inhibitor. It would almost be as if like - the first turret and last inhibitors have some sort of meaningful underlying look to the game... Maybe a giant resonation for an alot-ted time(3-15 seconds) of the runes in your lay "signifying that the first allied turret in the game was destroyed". Which is cool because the last inhibitor would naturally turn off... signifying to team/teammates have none left since the lit up line of runes are connected inhib to nexus (maybe just inhib-on)once an inhib is at full health, it's rune path to the "base" location turns on! I'd tried to explain everything to the best as i could. I hope this helps! dudes. i'm color blind, you could use whatever colors on the ground to signify off and on for visuals if it if itll be less stressing on the LoL and you can use it

That would be nice. I wish the inhibitors actual affected the Nexus. Destroy one and you can rush down the Nexus. Why bother having three then? I've always thought that each inhibitor should give the Nexus 'Damage Reduction' in some form so one bad fight doesn't end the game, but that's just me.

As for your rune ideas, I really like it. It could improve the 'clarity of gameplay' Riot is working so hard to obtain.

I agree with you :D it would be so cool to see an animation showing the connection between the inhibs and nexus.

And maybe, with your idea of the runes on the ground, it could also show us the time when the inhibs will respawn instead of just having the announcer say "Your inhibitor is respawning soon" and then having it appear some time later. This way we don't have to get all the way to the nexus and then suddenly have the inhibitor spawn and not be able to attack the nexus anymore. Now we would be able to say "oh guys, get the nexus fast before the inhib" or "guys back off! the inhib is spawing in a few seconds!

That's something i have thought about too. This would add a more intense feeling when destroying an inhibitor! I hope the Rioters see this and think about it. summoner 13 Riot plz!

Yes, do as Dawngate does. I see no problem in copying good ideas. LoL wouldn't exist if they didnt copyed Dota mod for Warcraft 3. The nexus have 6 guys "praying" around it, at least the old/current one does, you can put 3 small crystal floating around the new nexus, representing the inhibs. Until you destroy all 3, by destroying the 3 inhibs, the nexus wont be vulnerable.

Take a look at Dawngates setup with this. If league did something like that to the nexus and inhibs I think it would be great.

aren't those thing will make the map more ugly ? I mean,it's gonna be so untidy.

have it show the recharge like WhiteFoxLord said but not an actual beam, it would look a lot better as a line of runes along the ground to the nexus

I actually like this idea. Players get the idea that you need to destroy the inhibitor before you kill the nexus, but there isn't any indication for newer players that this is the case.

That seems like a good idea, but the "runes" could interfere with the clarity of game-play, which is the main goal of the map's visual update

Have a shield, or animation of some sort over the nexus, something that blocks the diamond, then when you destroy an inhib, have a 'hole' form in the shield. which the inhib is down, give it some sort of rebuilding animation, something that shows it will soon be up, rather than just giving a 5 second warning then it appears out of nowhere

this sound's like a really great idea then you also know when you just should give you know when they have got the towers and you want the inhib to spawn but it could also help the other team if they could see the line and just camp for the inhib????

Inhibitor changes should be strictly cosmetic. Food for thought:

If the inhibitors purpose is to "inhibit" the spawn of enemy super minions, wouldn't that make it more of a weapon than a defense?

I like this idea, something unintrusive that also acts as a sort of passive approximation of when the inhib will respawn. With the SR VU, it could be something like a trough of light in a straight line from each inhib to the nexus, that slowly fills until the two are re-connected. Something very unintrusive, just visible on the floor when the area is out of the fog of war, like small gutters of energy.

I like The idea, maybe extend it, showing also a smaller line from Tower to Tower, and from Tower to Inhip, Forming a shield as long as they are invulnerable.

When destroying the Inhibitors, it should seem like the crystal is becoming unstable before it finally explodes, rather than the subtle cyrstals starting to fall away.
