Solution: Dodging or leaving queue in any way does not change the champion you have; only after rerolls or actually playing a game with that champ will you randomly get a new champ for aram. E.g. You win a game with 
, and the next aram you have 
. You are stuck with until you reroll or actually play the aram with said champ.

But I used to, solely to get out of playing with a champion I KNEW would crash me. For a long while, Le Blanc, Zyra, Maokai, Yorick, and Vel'koz would crash me whether I was playing them or not. I would dodge and happily took the penalty because I knew a little anger from 9 people was less severe than throwing a game for four others.
Your proposed change would guarantee who ever queued with me once I rolled a crashing champion, a 4v5.
In addition, what happens if you dodge playing a Free Week champ, and don't queue up for ARAM until they've changed the rotation? I'm all for opening the entire roster for ARAM (to ruin those ARAM-only accounts), but that needs to be addressed first.
Zielmann1 votesThere's a reason this idea is shut down every time it comes up (it was pretty much a weekly topic in the old ARAM section of the forums). And I actually hadn't even thought of your scenario. The two biggest issues are when conflicts occur, or how people could abuse this.
What happens when several players dodge the same champion, and then they wind up paired together? Or to your point, if the free champs change after they dodge, making that champ no longer available to them?
But I don't think the people that propose this think much of the possible abuse, as well. People with the good champs could start dodging if they don't like what's on the rest of their team. So now they're guaranteed that same top-tier champion, but they have a chance at getting an even better comp. Take this to the extreme, and a group of friends could do this until they're guaranteed a team full of top-10 champs. It's worse than running ARAM smurfs...
I'm right with you that I'd love to see all champs opened up for ARAM. It's something we've been begging for for ages now. And heck, I'd prioritize that over doing anything more about dodges. This could be partially due to me having played through the times when it was still a custom game played on SR, where it was common to sit through 10-15 dodges before getting into a game. The 2-3 we have now really doesn't bother me.
Gear Kitty1 votesI never even got to see the dodges. I was almost insta-kick back then because I was a level 30 with less than 70 wins (1000+ bots matches though) and no rank; even though nowadays I'm a technical Bronze 5 with Silver/Gold(even seen some Plats) MMR in ARAM.
It feels good carrying people with borders.
