Hello, I was wondering if we will see development return on this map/game mode. I would love to see a 1v1/2v2 map/game mode. I enjoy playing with a friend and am tired of customs where people don't know the rules. Any response is greatly appreciated and I am quite tired of the same old same old Nexus destroying.

TinySparrow232 votesI'm going to be disliked because of what I'm going to say, but because of the lack of interest in the 1v1/2v2 featured game mode that existed a while ago (Showdown), I feel they scrapped much of the intent in making such a map. I know a bunch of people that visit the forums probably played the game mode a lot during it's existence, but the small interest in the mode dropped off a bunch. Brackhar said that "[i]f the modes were left on permanently, the queue times for each would be pretty atrocious after a few more weeks." He also later brought up that there was always the case where the mode will come back in the future, but I don't think there will be any plans of keeping 1v1/2v2 or any of the other featured game modes available for a longer duration than a couple weeks at most. Long story short, enjoy the mode when/if it comes back. =]

Greato2 votesI think they stopped production to make room for the SR update. Also, Riot was in the process of moving servers and adding more, eventually, I'm sure they could handle it. People usually play new game modes so much because they are limited, if they were to add one permanently, I think it would balance itself out.

RiotRoboLions2 votesNo mode is off the table to be brought back. If we do bring Showdown back we will want to better understand what made some players enjoy it and what turned other players off. Our goal is to evolve modes that we bring back so that its not just the same thing as before (it should be better the subsequent times).
All that said, not all game modes will be nexus knockers.
Draven Always2 votesI have a question, WHY do game modes get taken down? I thought that the modes were fine. I especially loved URF. Please put all of them back, or do you not have enough manpower to watch all of the game modes simultaneously to make sure there are no bugs.
RiotRoboLions3 votesMaintaining the bugs and balance across many game modes is definitely part of it. Also, cool game modes, even ones as cool as URF, will suffer from player fatigue over time.
What we're most excited about, though, is that this gives us the opportunity to put out new modes without feeling that we have to perfect it. We can put out interesting ideas as experiments and improve upon them later.

Why don't you put it in like a "work in progress" section of game modes, or at least make it available for customs. remember when there was a way to have 5v5 one for all without riot actually releasing game mode? Making that available for customs would be great, and you wouldn't have to worry about player fatigue/bugs because players wouldn't care if its in a custom.
Dokueki Kenshin1 votesTrue, but that also means that it's harder for them to get useful feedback from the people playing. If they release it in any pre-final form, it's going to be on the PBE. If no one cares about it enough to notice it, no one's gonna care enough to write bug reports and things of the like after they're done playing.

7 deadly memes1 votesI see your point and I absolutely agree with it. Thing is, why did you (Riot) just add ARAM with no warning. No "There's going to be a new game mode" or anything. It wasn't even a featured game mode before that, people were just playing it in custom games. Was it only about the Freljord story that you changed Proving Grounds to Howling Abyss then figured it would be sort of necessary to add ARAM to it? If "Hide and Seek" was more popular than ARAM in the ARAM custom game days, and it had the same amount of support in becoming an actual game mode maybe more, would you have still made ARAM into a game mode or Hide and Seek? (Hide and Seek is silly please don't make it into a game mode I was just using it and an example)
Flemman1 votesI think the map turn the players off. Aram map was too long for it, with many unecessary thing in the way (second tower, nexus) and distance between ennemy tower and our tower so short that every back to shop was 1/3 hp tower gone.
One thing that could too be upgrade is the one round only. Making the mode a best of 3/5 (depend if 1v1 or 2v2) and only premade in 2v2 to avoid being stuck with toxic teammate will be more fun Add a mode, if BO, of one game only with a champ for each team where only poeple with 20+ champ unlock could enter

Rotguine 2 votesMagma Chamber has been scrapped since Beta. It was promised to us so long ago but then they never did it. I recently heard about them trying to do it again in this 1v1 or 2v2 game mode from a friend as I stopped playing a long time ago but got back into it now. I doubt this map will ever come out, just like the map they were supposed to come out with that would be an alternative to Summoners Rift.
Syvenon2 votesOp isn't referring to that magma chamber. A little bit ago they started letting pros play 1v1s and 2v2s in a new magma chamber designed for that. Riot said they were working on releasing it to all players, but it doesn't seem like it panned out.

illuminauty1 votesThey already did that as a featured game mode called Snowdown Showdown, however the featured game modes aren't meant to be permanent modes. While they said they could consider doing one in a more permanent style, SS was one of the least popular of the featured game modes so it's very unlikely.
