Why's ranked still enabled?

Just outta curiosity, why is ranked still enabled to be played? I thought the season was over. Is there a benefit of some sort, or what?

Its enabled because you can still progress and improve your seeding for next season

It`s preseaon. You can play all preseason and maybe get higher rank for next season placement matches
