Sometimes you duo queue with someone and they don't tell you its ranked and you just assume its normals. I had the exact opposite problem like 3 days ago, I duoed a ranked and thought it was normals. I won, but not with a champion I would play ranked with intentionally (Ashe).

I've done this before, to be honest... But there should be a little window near the upper right corner that says what type of game you're playing and the specifics and everything... I think it might only be viewable in customs and while queueing, though... I don't remember
