Mode Idea: Benjamin Button Style New Years Game

Zilean, in an attempt to return to the past to save his fallen city, has found a way to turned back the clocks, however he is not the only one affected. All summoners have been caught in this time reversal and are aging backwards. Now, as the new year approaches and all summoners face death by aging back past their birth, Zilean must find a way to set things right before all that is ceases to be.

Rough idea but a reverse time game where champs all start out at lvl18 and de-level as the game progresses, ending with champs fully built at lvl1. Could be released around new years with some time themed skins (ie Zilean skin, baby last new years amumu, etc). Thoughts???

it would actually be cool because end game would be more skill based and play out the winner is who can build the better rune and mastery pages :) Champ select would change as well as people would look for early gamers...late gamers would not do as well obviously :)

Oh thats very interesting. The issue i see is how abilities change. So you'd had to select what level to take a point out of each time?

How would exp work? Would killing things make you de-level faster or slow? Would being dead increase how fast you lose levels? Would you be trying hard to not de-level so that when the other team hits level 1 you are level 2 or w/e?

I think with the loss of abilities as the game on you have less things that you can do even though usually the game gets more interesting as you go. I dont want to be 40 mins in and only have 1 skill for 10 more mins or something. That'd suck.

Cool idea tho.

SO what your saying is a game mode where the more fed you are the more screwed you are

So I've been thinking a lot about it as far as spells go there one of three options: 1 keep them the way they are, you start with one spell, de leveling to level 13 (6 levels in) gives you ult etc 2 start with all of your spells and slowly loose them and see how the game play goes with all champs fully built level 1 with only one spell or 3 level up your spells like normal but they degrade in some respect as they level up (start in their stongest form and end game they are in their weakest form) (personally i would think option one would be the best, you still get more spells over time and make them stronger, like your build, but the strength of the champion is gradually decreasing, plus it would be less work for Riot)

As for the de leveling ive thought of two options either 1 exp de levels you so you have to choose between fast gold and fast de leveling, or next to no gold but keeping your levels high longer, however after a certain amount of time out of combat you start to de level more rapidly (that way you dont get people waiting in base at level 18 while everyone else fights and gets weaker) 2 you de level solely in time spent out of combat, so exp is lost during time spent dead, and if you are spending a lot of time walking from one lane to another. Fighting minions or champions could either freeze the clock on you de leveling or reverse it slightly (though not so significantly that champs could just stay in lane phase all game trying to not de level

So mages (and/or supports) dominate early and adc's dominate late?

so for your items, you can start off at a full build. your starting G is the cost of your full build and as the game goes on you lose G. you lose items based on which slot they are in.

@Mahnigguh: no you wouldn't loose items as you go, aside from leveling from 18 to 1 instead of 1 to 18, everything else would probably be the same. Its really up to Riot if they decide to try this for the finer details but my idea is just a temporary game for a week or two around new years where we reverse leveling

I like this. I feel that the ability to make community games in the way WC3 allowed people would be awesome. I feel you would see a new turn over of people. MAYBE even start a new sub sub genre... (WC3 RTS led to LoL Moba Leads to Something something something darkside - Profit)
