Is it just me or...

All lore and interesting stuff is going to Targon and Shurima? I feel like Demacia, Ionia after the updates still lack interisting points beside the characters.

Take a look, Demacia has no interest point or something interesting like a dark secret kept in the royal family or something we know of. No big stuff happening, just human trivial stuff. And one of the most wasted of all, Ionia, a region with tons of magic that could have tons of super artifacts, cool stuff about magic, prophecies, lost temples but nope, we didn't even got one of the most mysterious champions, Syndra.

Riot already directed too much to Targon and Shurima honestly, don't get me wrong I LOVE how the lore is going but I feel like everything in Runeterra is about - Shurima- Void IN Shurima - Darkin IN Shurima - Targon IN Shurima.

I get it's a cool region with so much cool stuff but why not shift the focus to other places. I know in the future cool stuff will come but for now that's what we have.

  1. SHURIMA AND TARGON
  2. Bilgerwater and Shadow Isles
  3. Freljord
  4. Piltover and Zaun
  5. Noxus (and mordekaiser stuff)
  6. Ionia
  7. Demacia
  8. Bandle City (I know they will have a great place in Runeterra).

Just give other Regions cool stuff to have. Like Bilgewater and Illaoi's God or their sea monsters + the interaction with Shadow Isles.

I feel like other regions are too much ordinary.

I personally feel like they're trying too hard to tell us "Hey, the void is the big threat, here are ____ many ways the existing lore is connected to it!" I get they're trying to really tie in all the lore (Like Lissandra 's watchers being the kinda overlords of the Void) but it all feels centered around Shurima, Targon, etc.

And when its not Shurima, Targon, or the Void, its Bilgewater. Bilgewater has gotten WAY too much attention in terms of stories, treatment, and effort compared to every other region.

We got all this fancy new lore with Swain's update and then...….nothing. We're left on a cliffhanger.

We have an immortal (more than likely) sorceress who has been manipulating the chain of events of all of Valoran since the barbarian wars - Leblanc
What is her endgame?

We have Stali- I mean a brutal commander in chief who has a demon attached to him, who also happens to command arguably the most powerful empire (that our favorite immortal sorceress essentially created) that Valoran has ever seen - Swain

And not to mention that Freljord has been left in the dust. Ornn's release wasn't very eventful for our chilly friends up north. There is still a war happening between the three self-proclaimed Queens of the Freljord - one of them is trying to literally conjure the overlords of the Void.

And then the Shadow Isles, which have also been left in the dust. We have an undead warlord, betrayed by none other than, once again, our favorite immortal sorceress Leblanc, who seeks to escape the Isles and claim what was once his.

We also have a spirit that's hunting after 7 of our most beloved champions for betraying people.

There are so many interesting stories to be unfold, and yet we keep getting fed stories about sand folk, starry eyed demigods, and pirates.

Nah, it just looks like all the interesting stuff is happening there because a camp connected to those areas is being released/reworked. The exact same thing was said back when Pyke was released and we got a bunch of Bilgewater lore, and the same thing gets said about Ionia whenever we get an Ionian champ. Zaun gets it a little, as well.

You want dark secrets in Demacian nobility? There's Lux's ability to wield magic, the whole thing that Galio is actually alive and the biggest national symbol is a magic artifact, and while not secret, the crown prince is openly cavorting with a goddamn dragon.

There's all sorts of stuff with ancient magics and conspiracies in Ionia, from the Kinkou keeping balance between the mundane and spirit worlds, the Spirit of Ionia, Karma, the mysteries of the forbidden shadow techniques, the god-willow, the shadowy cabal that freed Jhin, Ahri's quest to find out what the hell she actually is, Xayah and Rakan's rebellion, and probably more that I can't think up at the moment.

I too think this is a problem and a shame for the lore team. They speak of creativity and making the world believable, but their creativity always boils down to "everyone's a demigod" and "VOID!" and "FOR SHURIMA!" It's gotten super old, super fast, and I'm quickly losing interest in how much this is becoming "League of Demigods in Shurima." All they seem to focus on Noxus and Demacia is that they hate each other and they fight, and occasionally pillage other nations. They don't develop them any more than just being warring city-states completely oblivious to the rest of the world unless they want to take it for their own. There's so much potential for Demacia and Noxus, and they could have been prime locales to tie in the Darkin, but no, they chose to go yet again with Shurima. We get that you guys at Riot have a hard on for Shurima. We get that you love all the furry gods there, and you want to make more fursonas to run amok in the world. But let Shurima rest. Let it settle. Give some focus to the rest of the world for once, and let us see some other conflicts in the world other than the Void.

I agree there's still too much we don't know about Demacia, as well as the Shadow Isles which have all this awesome concept art but no official lore on what any of it means aside from speculation and vague descriptions:

"THE ATHENAEUM OF LIGHT, WHEREIN THE LITANIES OF THE SENTINELS ARE GRAVEN ON WALL AND FLOOR"

What?! This sounds so cool but I have no idea who the Sentinels are or what it means!

"THE CELESTIAL VAULT, UNLOCKED BY THE REVELATIONS OF THE LUNATROPIC DEMISPHERE"

If only we knew what those revelations were or what a lunatropic demisphere is!

"THE HALL OF CONJUNCTION, THROUGH WHICH ALL SEEKERS MUST PASS"

What the heck even is a seeker?

I think they are doing more Demacia and Noxus stuff soon

it not that they get all the interesting stuff, its just that they are a huge focal point of the overarking story as well as having a lot of powers on levels well above the other factions. But once all the lore is fleshed out everything should connect together smoothly.

Its kinda ironic how in the past Demacia and Noxus were the most central points of the lore and now they are arguably among the least important factions.
