it would be cool to have like a lobby and then pick what map you want but that would be something they'll look into something in the next few years

Not really,I think they even said that they are thinking about adding new summoners rift skins once the new SR is finished(dunno if it is considered finished at this point,it still seems odd that the shopkeepers don't talk like the ones on HA)

This is understandable because since the magma-chamber fiasco they know that adding a new map can be quite risky if the game mode it is meant for isn't that appealing,so instead focusing their resources on adding different map skins would be a better way for them to create more variety without needing to add permanent game modes.
