"her rework has given her tons of lore and a ton more personality"
I really don't understand how you can say that with a straight face. She could actually be the most one-dimensional champion in the League; her rework didn't change or add much of anything. Just listen to her quotes: her entire voiceover consists of paraphrases of the exact same ideas over and over again.
"I'll fight for a cause. I won't die for one." -mercenary, no loyalties
"Kings come and go, but gold stays." -no loyalties, money
"Everyone has a price." -money, no loyalties
"Wealth is my kind of burden." - money
"I make my own fortune." -money
"Loyalty isn't earned. It's bought." -money, no loyalties, mercenary
"You can't tame the desert." -HOLY SHIT THIS ONE'S ACTUALLY DIFFERENT
"Laws are whatever works at the time." -amoral
"Heroes go hungry." -amoral, no loyalties, money (Ultraboomer)
"It's not stealing if they're dead." -amoral, money
"The only thing I look up to is the sky." -amoral, no loyalties
"Honor is the rust on a dull blade." -amoral
"You've got a problem, I've got a price." -mercenary, money
"Get paid, and get out." -money, no loyalties
"I've got values - they stack up nicely." -money, amoral
In fact I really find it unintentionally hilarious, made doubly funny by her 2edgy4u career smoker voice. She's like an edgier version of Riven without the tragic backstory and quest for redemption. There is of course a lot of room for interesting character development/interaction, specifically with Azir (her amoral mercenary nature vs. Azir's boundless ambition/idealism is a very good foil), but... that doesn't seem to exist in any official capacity.
