Characters in Older Champs Lore

I've been away from League for a while, only playing ARAM here and there and sort of keeping up with the tourney scene, but one thing that I liked about League was the old JoJ and character Lore. It fleshed out a world that was pretty interesting to me. Now I know that most of the Lore has been retconned and stripped away, but I still managed to enjoy things like the Freljord and Bilgewater events. However, one thing I was always interested in were characters that were in Champ's backgrounds. Such as the oft brought up, Zelos, Kass's daughter, and Kog's "daddy". Now with Kass's daughter since that was a JoJ thing, it probably is a dead story thread, but I wonder and I bring it to you all, should Riot go back and revisit some of these story threads and try to adapt them to the "new lore" or just leave them behind. I personally would love to see a callback and discover who these characters were, but I don't have much hope to be frank.
