While I think it is well written and gives a lot of dept to the character (but only if some of his "good side" is kept after the Ascension) I still believe that Xerath should have kept the magic enthusiast archetype instead of the Jafaresque one.
Old Human Xerath's primary goal: Power and Power New Human Xerath's primary goal: Freedom and Revenge
Old Transformed Xerath's primary goal: Power and Power New Ascended Xerath's primary goal: Power (which obviously means Freedom too) and Ruling
I think New Xerath is more interesting and has more complex personality compare to old one.
I mean, he still carries will of man. %95 of humans would go crazy and try to rule humanity with that much power. Old Xerath was pretty boring with only power desire. He only wanted power to feed his ego, he was not going to do anything with this formidable, destructive magical skills, at least we are never going to know what he thought.
