This isn't really immersive

I don't understand why I'm supposed to care about gangplank dying when I had all but 5 seconds to even know anything about his new character/personality/everything before he's hastily killed off, besides being told he did this and that on some page.

Disabling him doesn't make me care more either and it certainly isn't immersive either given that playing gangplank in league of legends the gameplay has no relation to league of legends the lore.

I can't be the only one who feels this way about this all.

It's also not moral. Imagine this:

Give a baby a toy. He loves it! Then snatch it off him. He's upset..

Can't back that up with roleplay storytime stuff. :p

As a gangplank player, I feel super cheated by this event. Not because one of my favorite champions died in the lore, but because I can't enjoy his shiny new kit for like a week. I was starting to have a lot of fun with the barrels and figuring out what builds work and which ones don't.

I don't feel like I'm being immersed in the story. I don't feel like I'm being made to grieve for a character I like in-lore. I feel like I'm being punished in-game for being a gangplank player.

Funny thing, you're saying "Lore doesn't tie in to gameplay" yet some people who are upset about the disable is saying, "But Rito said that gameplay and lore aren't together!"

Just because someone dies, that doesnt mean his character progression is over, it may also be the beginning of a new chapter for that character. In a world like Runeterra, where you have resurrections, undead and magical healing, magic in general, anything is possible.
