New splash arts for Mount Targon champions?

As many of you might know, the lore of Mount Targon and its champions: Diana Leona and Pantheon, have been updated recently. It has also been said that (all?) champions will get new splash arts to keep their appearance up-to-date with the in-game versions:

For a long while, we’ve been thinking about old splash art, specifically splash art belonging to the skins of previously updated champions. As you are likely aware, most champion updates have not been accompanied by comprehensive splash art reworks, creating a problem where certain splashes are outdated or inaccurate representations of what you actually see in-game. Luckily, we have a solution to this problem: Do. All. The. Splashes.

With many speculations about the 2 empty slots on Mount Targon, saying that the next champion will probably be one to fill one of those two slots, I'm wondering if they will give Diana, Leona and Pantheon the new splash arts sooner (aka a priority queue), to keep up with the updated splash art the new Mt. Targon champion will get. It would make sense, if they do so, Mt. Targon will be up-to-date entirely. I would look forward to that.

The thing is that Leona,diana and pantheon only received an updated lore. Their ingame models weren't changed and so they won't get new splash arts.

All of it at once then >:) , i'm sure Diana hasn't changed since 2014 and in-game (especially in the Lunar Goddess skin) her face is kinda bullkaka compared to the great splash art for that skin. All of them could use some updating and I would look forward to that.

Well, technically some of them recieved small updates in their textures or even gameplay when they were changed.

Viktor actually got a visual update when they gave him his gameplay rework,so he likely counts as one of the champs whose splash art they want to update.(kassadin got one too,but it was said that it was largely done by a single rioter and is more of a temporary update) Katarinas update was released shortly before Nidas update(and nida is confirmed to get new skin splash arts),so I guess she'll also get new skin splashes.

the problem with the rest is that their designs might get changed when they finally get their update at which point they'd have to redo all the skin splashes again.

That's the point, as i quoted above they will do all skin splashes too it's in the article.

Yeah,but the ones who got VUs will take priority. The others will have to wait unless they are lucky(when they began working on the skin splashes they randomly chose some,so some skin splashes are already in the early stages)

Viktors is only a texture update, Katarina didnt get her new splash art until the previous season, she used her old one for a long time after her VU. Kassadin got his splash art before his VU.

Texture updates are still VUs of some sort,I mean Shen also only got a texture update.

Also its not about the regular splash arts,its about the skin splash arts,they said they wanted to update these.

Shen got a Visual Update, not a Texture Update. Also the SR VU texture updates dont count for the large majority of champions (only like 4 champions look a lot different after the texture overhaul).

Looked back at the viktor update and you are right,sorry misremembered it.

And yeah I know that the Texture rebalances don't count(viktor got his texture update alongside his gameplay update).

Still I think it is possible that katarina is still counted as a "visually updated" champ,I mean Nidalee is counted as one as well and her VU came shortly after Katas.(though I doubt kata would be high on the priority list)

As I said, Katarina did not get her splash art until 2 years after her VU, so it doesnt count in this regard.

I think you are misunderstanding me here. I merely talk about the skin splasharts of the champs,as riot said that they want to redo these for the updated champions next. The regular splash art has nothing to do with that.

Oh well, I just hope with the new lore and Aurelion Sol being confirmed to take one of the 2 empty slots in Mount Targon that Diana Leona and Panth get a priority queue for the splash art updates :)

Why it doesnt count, because the large stretch of time between the release of the VU and the release of the new splash art does prove that both were never planned to be released together. They updated it because Riot wanted to update it. Best example would be Tristana, who had two new splash arts, even though she didnt need the initial one since she would have gotten one with her VU. Previously they did splash arts as the had the time to do it, now they are much concious with how important it is to fully update all the splashes, which started with Poppy and continued with Shen and will probably continue with each new VU afterwards. Now, as with the retcon, they need to catch up with everything they didnt update as of yet.

Well I don't really see your point here...

Yes,they said they want to update the skin splashes of the champs that get VUs. However they also said they wanted to update all the outdated skin splashes and that they begin with the champs who have previously received VUs(Trundle,Nida and Tristana are confirmed to be the current top priorities) and even if Katarinas classic splash didn't come with her VU,it doesn't change the fact that katarina still got a VU.

I mean don't get me wrong here,I doubt that kata would be high on their priority list of updated champs(as her general design didn't change,so the skin splashes look rather accurate),but she would probably somewhere on it,considering that she doesn't look really outdated(only her rather small VO and amount of animations make her look a bit outdated)

I think Dianas splash art is fine and doesn't need to be changed. I love Leo's current splash art but wouldn't say no to an update. Pantheon's is good right now too, but I feel like they could definitely update it to make it feel more like the new Pantheon.

i disagree, diana and panth's splash arts are outdated especialy panth's, not only talking original but also skins.
