Butchering Lore

Lore is what drew me in to this game. I would read a champions lore, play the character, and fantasize about the persona I was embodying. Now at the low plat level, all of my focus is dedicated to statistics and optimization. Today I took a break from the number crunching and strategy to read up on some new champion lore; I was thoroughly disappointed at the pathetic attempt by Riot to supply these champions with a basic background. Riot, if you can spend the time and effort to make short films, music videos, and more, please take the time to write fantastical yet succinct descriptions of your champions. I'm sure I'm not the only one who misses this. -NERF GANGPLANK

Lore was never the strong suit of this game, but I will agree the fact at least while the set up was not good, it was there and it was competent enough for me to be comfortable about it being there.

Some of them are legit quite cool and interesting in their own way, no doubt. Like Yi, Lee, Mord, Maokai, Skarner, Xin, Alistar, Jax, J4 etc.

Then Skarer's fine lore was butchered, and you know we're all in for something big.

Really, come on.

Strongly agree. The lore for the past few newer champions has been ridiculously stupid. Like Azir's. 3 sentences? Did you actually hire someone to write three freakin' sentences? They better have other jobs, or you should be ashamed of hiring them. Their writing is pathetic, I wouldn't doubt a 6th grader could write a better short story. Please make the next champion's lore something to be proud of, like Braum's lore. I think Braum's lore is a great example.

Hey NerfGangplank,

I hear you man. The lore has been a bit lacking for what players like you and I want. I'm currently working on a project to rewrite most of the lore (progress can be seen over at saldamandar.wordpress.com ... just went live yesterday) and thought I'd ask you. Is there a particular champ you want reworked? Thought I'd offer up my help to another player in desire of some lore.
