Was there any real reason to change Taric's design so much? The reworked seems fine or whatever but I don't know if I can even play him if i cant yell 'Opal for harmony' at people.
Also, he's titled 'the Shield of Valoran' now... but you took away his shield.
I know it will never happen but I want my old Taric 'look' back.
He's called the shield of Valoran because he litterally is the shield. He protects Valoran with his own power from the Aspect
Because Taric's identity isn't centered solely around gems (and Ezreal's ass) anymore.While they are still an aspect of who he is (how he bring out his powers),they're not the end all be all of him.Calling him a "Gem Knight" isn't accurate to who he is now.He's a protector of life & beauty from those who would harm it.That's why he's the "Shield of Valoran".Taric & his chiseled body is the shield.
Because the Targonians get their power from stars and not gems. So they did this work around where his star power is solidified in the gems, or something? I don't know it's kind of vague.
I also have the sneaky suspicion that the title Shield of Valoran was given to him before they removed his shield and they just never changed it.

Are the releasing a Classic Taric skin the way they did with Trundle and Karma? I know Sion and Poppy didn't get one so I suspect no, but it'd be nice.

One of the things riot didn't like old Tarics design was that he had gems literally EVERYWHERE (maybe in some private places too ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ). They wanted to see what "gem magic" really fits into. Also about that shield part as everyone said he now is the shield himself.
They likely changed his title because he isn't a knight anymore. And "the gem cleric" sounds really bad.
