Riot can you remove the expiration date on Prestige Points?

I have 39 Prestige Points that I've collected them from masterwork chests that I buy with leftover RP after getting a pack or something and from something else idk what honestly (for those of you that judge me buying masterwork chests, don't. I'm pretty lucky with them and I've gotten like 4 legendary skins from them). However, I didn't know that prestige points expired. I figured that I would eventually reach 100, but it's kind of dumb that they expire. I searched up why, and no one seems to agree with the idea that it expires and just says it's a way to make money.

Riot, if you're there, please listen to your players and get rid of the expiration date of prestige points. If anything, at least give a reward like hextech chests from prestige points that expire. I find it hard to believe that you would make something that people spend money on to expire. If I had known they expired, I probably would not have bought the masterwork chests in the first place. Please Riot, this really is a system that nobody approves of.

Before the end of the year there will be a Prestige Point shop where you can purchase items that cost less then 100 points. Like grab bags, exclusive emotes and icons, and if you have a really small number, blue and orange essence.

They want everyone to have a fresh start at the beginning of each Prestige Year, to have everyone be on an equal footing.

I think they should expire, but I find the expiration date too brutal. It should wait for the mid-season portion of the next season. You can still use your points for non-prestige skin things, so there's that.

Anything that expires in the game is stupid, because it has no benefit to me as the player.

Here's my actual stance: Prestige Points should not expire. Removing the Prestige Editions that were released in that year is fine, though. It's essentially saying, "These limited-edition skins are available for purchase using Prestige Points until the end of the year." If you opt out or missed it, then they'll be gone for good. And that's fine. There are plenty of limited-edition things in the game already that can no longer be acquired (Silver Kayle, Young Ryze, etc.). Taking away something you've been accumulating and saving is highly objectionable. They feel that they can justify it by one, announcing which Champions will be getting Prestige Editions over the course of the year; and two, making items available in the shop that are priced such that one can bring any stray Points down to zero. This, however, doesn't make it right to me.

I'm a bard main. I've been waiting almost 4 years for a bard skin... What if Bard gets a prestige skin in 2020? Or even 2021? See my problem?

Because they expire I'm being forced to buy fucking Neeko and this Thresh skin that will be out probably this Christmas.

Giving them an expiration just means fewer people have an incentive to buy them. It's an immensely incompetent business decision moving forward.

I'm OK with them expiring as long as they don't do them again next year.

If they are, then having them expire makes little sense and yeh, they should just carryover...

It's tough keeping up with prestige skins, but that's what makes them valuable in the long run.

Right now I have enough tokens to convert towards MF, then around 35 points away from qiyana.

But then I hear true damage ekko and senna are getting ones as well after thresh.

It's getting to be a bit much...yea

They expire because Riot wants you to spend more $, and by creating an arbitrary limit they ensure that you can't really get the skins for free.

Those in charge of the decision making look at it from a pure business standpoint, and as such understand the psychological impact of 'losing' something; the desire to avoid it incentivizes behavior that would otherwise not occur.

It also exists in the Discount Store (the cards that pop up 'personalized'), and the Prestige system in general (limited availability to force action)

I disagree, they should expire

Ahris11/1/2019, 11:11:34 PM1 votes

Once it doesnt expire, people wont buy the battle pass anymore cuz they can wait till they can get the champ they want.

Making it expire is just a buisness model if you have not noticed.

I mean to be honest there is a reason they expire it could be the concept of prestige skins will go away sense they are mythic. They might want to do idk demon spawn skins for the next "prestiege"

The intent is to allow players to feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.

VelvetCrotch11/3/2019, 9:12:13 AM1 votes

no ofc they shouldn't!

aswell as:

gem skins should be similar to ultimate skins quality wise

and

Riot should have gave us at least 10 refunds for the 10 years anniversary
