I really, really liked the music, the story, the entire thing except....why Varus?

What did Varus do to you RIOT?

Seriously, I don't care about anything other than the fact like...I seriously, seriously already loved him.

I used to told how stupid I was playing him that he was a crappy champion and needed a rework.

I told everybody, hahah hilarious. He is the best and I will prove it. Someday the LCS will see what I see in his potential and his power.

And I mastered him first. I made a point to play as many games as I could. Varus made me a better ADC.

And every chance I got to fight against Darius and Draven I did with more passion than the last time!

To me, his story was simple yet so powerful. To loose everything he loved because of Noxus WAS the entire game. The lore used to mean something but now I see RIOT really doesn't care about us, or our champions.

I have to be blunt now....RIOT obviously doesn't give a shit about their fans. They Obviously don't give a shit about the peopel who actually played this game when there were weekly updates on the War going on outside , news paper articles damnit!

This game already had a perfectly awesome concept to build on. And yet.... nope.

Galio no longer has his deep story of loss and immortality. Instead of making a new Goliath champion to be flushed out as the inspiration for Galios designs, no Galio didn't get a big brother ... he just became bigger. So much so he cannot even fly anymore.

It's just so hard to not feel stepped on when you literally took away something so special to me and anyone else who is a lore whore for their main champions.

I mean, Varus had a family. He has a villiage. He had a choice .... I spent the last 4-5 years at least I think now fighting every time as Varus I felt for him, I pretended he was slowly finding peace as he took out Noxians and I seriously remembered his Wife as if she were my own, his children as if they were my own ... as RIOT supposedly claimed they were happy about I was my MAIN CHAMPION and I feel now like...why even give a shit anymore about anything Riot offers me.

It's like they took one step forward with adding a legit homosexual character .... and three more backwards because this is no way to treat Varus fans just because he finally got to see the LCS and be a star like he always was.

Seriously, Riot....why you do this to us?

Was there even a thought about the fact you legit turned a straight family man with loss into a completely different story all together?

Or...as I am beginning to believe, just like EA, just like Disney ... you truly don't care about any of us and intentionally pick specific things to do so you can cut down out heros and replace them with sub par, mary sues and hack writing.

I just don't know what to do....I mean I will still have him as my main until the day he gets reworked and isn't the same for me to enjoy and then have to choose if I can even play him anymore...

Why couldn't you go after one of the champions with next to no story .... you had to pick one from the time when the back story was actually, decent already and tied directly into your game....that's why it was, I am on to you. You just did this because you want to erase everything that was League of Legends before TENCENT and TENCENT is getting what TENCENT wants.

This is the only new lore that they made a comic and music video for. Shaco and Nautilus didn't get any of this. They knew people would hate this and advertised it for controversy. They probably chose Varus because they just flat out didn't care about him.

So do you remember like, their names? Because I'm pretty sure they were unnamed filler characters for a champ with no real backstory.

I am a long time Varus main as well, but I don't see the changes effecting me in a way how I see him as my favourite champion.

I used to love having back and forth in lane as ADC Varus when vs. Lucian ... asking him about how his wife was, or if he ever found his wives soul; at least he had something to fight for.

I liked your point about not trusting enough to get into their new offerings. How could you get invested in something when they don't save some of the lore in reworks? Even if he was made gay I'd at least expect the loss and vengeance motif to remain. It was an odd move that will make the company and characters feel less sincere. Same with GP really, that was a bad sign.

After firing the balance team Riot should fire the lore team, would say some. I just ask to Lore team to make at least peace with their brain and find the right way to put the League of Legends at the center of League of Legends again, actually

I have been playing Varus for a super long time as well. I haven't been playing regularly the whole time of course and he's been my favorite Marksman since the beginning, but honestly although I prefer the old lore I don't care that much about it getting deleted.

What I do think is funny though is how when I was complaining about champions getting deleted, like Sejuani in particular by an update, I got lots of hate from other posters about how new Sejuani is fine and that kind of thing, and now there are tons of people crying about Varus getting deleted.

I mean, they've been deleting good champions left and right for their reworks. I don't understand how them deleting good lore could be a shock or surprise to anyone. Complain as much as you want, they will keep on doing it. You won't like it, I won't like it. But maybe you guys that care about lore and personality so much(to be honest Varus' voice lines were my favorite) will pay attention when we cry foul play for Riot deleting a champ from the game like what happened to Sejuani.

I had these exact same feelings playing Yorick and Mundo. Yorick used to be this well intentioned necromancer who wanted to be remembered and wanted to know what it was to feel again, but now its about the Vengeance one man vs the world trope.

Mundo was a trope, the ole Jekyll and Hyde character, and that was fine, because it was comfortable and enjoyable. Now he is a meme,

I wish the boards could come with this passion on broken bullshit like Zoe. People getting SUPER tight over lore changes (tbh you do have a right but its funny to see people react this way to Varus). These changes are BEHIND the scenes. Someone COULD LITERALLY rewrite his lore and you guys could adopt it as the unofficial varus lore by popular demand.

Indeed, big brother's Q could have been Galio's new ultimate. Add in MR ratios like players asked for. Give new guy a non-ultimate version(which he has already), and job done.

At least it's better than turning him into Xayah, making him Rakan's lover, and remove Varus from the game. Galio and Sejuani aren't coming back, but at least they aren't removing the dark ranger Varus. He'll lose his voice lines which is sad of course but it won't impact me much since I don't listen to voice lines anymore. My mind plays them back for me when I play Varus and Veigar because those are the best voice lines in this game IMO.
