It seems odd to me that Vi which in caps is the number 6 going three times down her leg. 666 is a real world religious symbol significant to satanists, luciferians, gnostics, kaballists , and christians. I thought the game had its own mythos. Are we going to incorporate other real world religious symbols in game as well? Islamic moon and star perhaps?

I mean hungry nunu references the sesam street,but that doesn't mean that the sesam street has anything to do with the world of lol.
And its not even like VI has 666 standing on her leg. Its just a reference to 666,making a joke about Vis name.

You have to try very hard to detour into real-world religions from that picture. 666, while mentioned in the bible, is hardly a symbol (or even heavily weighted concept) in Christianity. If it were a cross, star of david, star and crescent, or any other iconic religious symbol you may have a point. Considering that 666 isn't even demonic according to scholarly christian doctrine, I would be more offended with Rito associating it with a demonic skin than Ritos supposed proselytizing.
Jonakand3 votesA demon skin in itself may not be connected to any religion since many if not all religions have some form of demon in them. That being said 666 is specific to the naming of the beast in Revelation from which all of these religions draw context. 666 is very well known and your very likely to queue with a player with it as part of their name. Its a tribute to satan specifically and speaks of the enslavement of mankind to a world system controlled by him. That being said, I can agree that there are other more blatant tributes Nasus-Anubis, infernal nasus-orthus, Azir-Horus, Wu-kong-the Monkey King from Buddisim...etc. Nonetheless I play lol instead of SMITE, like my friends play, to get away from real world religious connections and I kind of wish they would try to steer clear of such connections...there are plenty of original ideas that they could use.

As I said earlier angels and demons are across all major religions so that bears little similarity to the naming of a specific supernatural/natural system or power REv 13:17and18b "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his NAME...666". Since it is a specific name ... it is different than playing as a fantasy angel or demon which has no real world relevance or significance.

Honestly, people latching onto 666 as hard as they have is what has made it into a joke. In no way, shape, or form are you going to be required to have Demon Vi in order to buy or sell things in the game, so the context obviously doesn't fit. It a nod to the reference, but only barely.

LordHippoman1 votes666 is about as mainstream as it gets when it comes to religious symbols. It's like the cross shaped gravestones, it's originally a religious thing, but it's so baked into modern culture that it loses a lot of that significance.
It's not like she's yelling bible verses as she ults. Runeterra doesn't really have a unified religion, there are sorta cults (Solari, Lunari, Elise's Vilemaw Fan Club), but it's not a big part of the narrative. It's not meant to establish any kind of religion in game, it's just an easy pun to make with her name and the skin's theme.

The 666 is an often made "modern" mistake that was caused by a couple centuries old copy error in the Bible.
Jonakand1 votesThe 616 is from a later egyptian manuscript and was used because at that time they thought Caesar Nero was the beast. Nero was known as Caesar Noron to the greeks and 666 is Hebrew numeric code for his greek name. Later since they believed they already had the key to who the beast was, in areas where they called him Nero they used 616 which is the number for Caesar Nero. But weather or not Revelation was referring to Nero, 666 is connected to Satan and his influence.
