So is Morde a shadow isles champ or noxus?

The new senna special interactions have lines directed towards shadow isles champs but it is activated in the presence of mordekaiser so i'm confused

After his VGU, Mordekaiser no longer has ties to the Shadow Isles. If you have a moment, you can check out his new bio here!

I've updated his VO tags so Shadow Isles lines will no longer play for him, as a bug fix for Senna (thanks, Skin Spotlights [slayer-jinx-catface] ).

As for Noxus, his empire was there before Noxus. So a lot of lines about modern Noxus/Noxians wouldn't really make sense for him. To make it easier to write Noxus lines in the future, he'll have to go without that tag for VO, though I will note he _ is_ labeled as a Noxian champ on Universe.

Hope that all makes sense! Sorry we keep accidentally shipping old canon. Correcting VO tags is on our pre-launch checklist moving forward.

Thanks for the clarifications. He is also still listed under champions of the Shadow Isles in the Map of Runeterra page so might wanna fix that too

Update, I found a bunch of out of date info and provided the Universe team with a list. Lemme know if there's anything I missed. I'm still waiting for these changes (and Senna's island!) to show up on the map.

Demacia: Kayle and Morgana icons outdated (pre-VGU) Targon: Pantheon icon outdated (pre-VGU) Shurima: Neeko is listed both here and Ixtal (Ixtal is more accurate) Shadow Isles: Mordekaiser icon outdated (pre-VGU); should be added to Noxus Bandle City: Consider adding Yuumi (from there, even if now she's travelling the world)

Or at least can you get us a Red post on the server status and whats happening because its two hours with the server status as Online but the game is unplayable

i know its probably not your department but youre one of the Rioters who is engaging with the community,we just want someone who is handling the server issues side of things to give us some information i know its not youre department but it would mean a lot for riot to tell us whats happening

Edit: I think the second issue means the game doesn't work even though servers are online. Hang in there, I'm trying to play too!

The messages located there just dont tell us anything, the most recent updated was that ranked is down, we dont care about that because most of us cant even get in the game at all, and the servers are being listed as online. i have had the server status open for 3 hours almost now waiting for it to change but it changing to ranked is down doesnt answer the core issue

That's cause this is Story Art & Sound. Programmers don't come here. You're asking a narrative writer, who has absolutely nothing to do with the game's development or the state of the client, what's going on and when he's going to fix it. That's not his job.

The Ixtal tab on the map has a different weird font compared to the other regions and Qiyana is absent.

In other words, Morde is currently not tied to Noxus OR Shadow Isles. But he does have history with those region.

Morde is in both noxus and the shadow isles... which is confusing. He did die in noxus and is contained under the immortal bastion, but is in a realm that is linked to the shadow isles. I have the feeling the shadow isles is the "leakage" of essence from the death realm, which is why everything there is very similar to the background of Morde's ult.

Mordekaiser was Noxus before noxus was noxus. His remains were locked in the blessed isle, while he built his own empire with blackjack and hookers. Now he is back ruling over the undead.

Morde is fundamentally the founder that Galvanized Noxus and the big Spoopy boi from the shadow isles.

Just read his new lore, very lack luster compared to the old lore. I guess once they nerfed him into the ground before rework, they had to made his background story the same to match him.

Mordekaiser was also shown in the senna gameplay video which only showed SI champs on the enemy team (hecarim, thresh, kalista, mord) so maybe riot forgot their own lore

It's most likely an oversight and Riot simply forgot to remove him from the shadow isles champion pool. That or the "shadow isles champs"-section is simply supposed to refer to "ghosts" and they just labeled it wrong in the video.

God that is the worst name for anything i've ever heard come from the mind of someone older than 12. Did Malicious Metal come up with it himself or did the Rioters actually think "This is a great idea for a totally not generic and really silly name."

That's not the name, it's just how we generally call it because the name is a bit hard and some people may not understand if we just say Mitna Rachnun. Also it was never referred to as death realm in the lore, at maximum they called it "Afterworld".

The only name I see for it is "Realm of Death".

Feel free to copy paste the full tooltip though, I don't play Morde so I haven't memorized it nor his voicelines if he says 'Mitna Rachnun' at some point
