What does a Summoner Look Like? (Definitely hoping for some Red Post help)

I'm trying to make a costume for a summoner to go with some friends in a LoL group to Dragon*Con. This cinematic is the only real reference I could find (yeah there are summoners on the banner on the profile page in client, and they appear on the trophy for worlds, but those are only from the torso up). It appears to me that the summoners are all slightly different, with some common traits (purple robe and hooded cloak, gold trim, gold belts with red stones). I've noticed that some of summoners (two in purple and the one in grey) have what appears to be a long shirt, a skirt, and the hooded cloak. It looks like, to me, that the large, muscular summoner just has a long robe with a sleeveless hooded cloak, but one of my co-costumers things he's got a long robe, with a skirt-like thing open at the front and attached at the belt, and his cloak. I can't really get a good view of the front of the other two summoners.

I'm trying to get some more information on how the basic summoner is set up, but I'm not sure who I would even ask. I imagine the best people to shoot an e-mail to would be some artists at Riot, but I'm not even sure which ones would have worked on the cinematic. Can anyone help me out with that? At the moment, I need to figure out if the summoners all have 3 main pieces to their wardrobe, or if some of them just have two, and I'd love to get a better reference for some of those belts (and maybe some of the gold accents on the robes?). I know there's no way I could get my hands on the models they used in the cinematic, but any help I could get would be great.

I know they aren't part of the new lore, but there are still people who remember that they existed. It might not be 'cannon' or whatever anymore, but it's still fun for me.

Funny idea.

I'm aware that the summoners are no longer part of the lore, but there are still people who remember them, and I think it'd be fun to make a costume for it.

Well since my original post wasn't all that original, acolyte Lee Sin was originally a skin of him doing summoner training. So you might take some inspiration from that.

You might also trying exhuming the Journal of Justice and digging through it's remains.

More detailed info would be really nice. I'm planning to make my own summoner cosplay (complete with name tag with my Summoner Name on it) over the summer, and some more detailed description would be great.

I'm planning on just getting a basic purple robe as close to the cinematic as I can get it. But some greater detail on summoner robes and decorations would be sweet.

I'm sure those images you linked are gonna help a bit at least :D

I think the 3 pieces of wardrobe you mentioned (long purple robe, hooded cloak and the belt) are the standard uniform for Summoners, then each Summoner chooses which parts to wear, even if they want to rip off the sleeves (like the muscular one). As a sort of self-expression. Either way, I think you can't go wrong, you can choose to be the "formal Summoner" or the more self-expressed one. Have fun making the costume!

So, this is one of 2 Outtake animations Riot made based off their season 1 Cinematic you got your first set of images and you get some really nice shots of the front of the summoners outfit when the Summoner drops his magic orb at about 0:39 and around 0:46 when said summoner fubbles for his orb. I'm sure that a lot of champions can be described as lowercase summoners.

Uppercase Summoners is a specific thing within the lore until Riot finaly gets around to doing that retcon thing they were threatening with some 8-9 months ago.

The Summoners we were were part of the IoW and had defined roles in the IoW. They are gone. You can call some champions summoners in that they do an act that summons something, but they do not have the same roles as Summoners that worked for the IoW. They do not equate to the Summoners we were before the Retcon. To equate them is wrong and disingenuous.

I'm aware that they are no longer a part of the current lore, but that doesn't mean they weren't there and don't count. Consider Greek or Roman or Egyptian or any number of other 'dead' religions - people don't worship those gods anymore, but they still remember the stories.

Okay but honestly, just go to your profile. Your profile shows an old man in robes, that is a summoner.

The old Nexus used to have summoners around them as well.

And the very first cinematic all had summoners controller the champions.

The only real theme they have is: People in robes.

Apparently, all of you who downvoted fail to realize what a summoner is. It is not just a person in purple robes working for the Institute it is anyone that uses summoning techniques and controls their minions for battle. Oh well, such simple concepts are too much for you to understand.

There is the game-generic term summoner and there is the LoL summoner. Considering we are on the LoL boards, one should assume the more specific LoL summoner is what we are talking about. Therefore, it is the magician in purple robes working for the Institute using summoning techniques and melding their minds with champions (or summoning mindless minions and letting them go) that is referenced in this thread, especially given the reference material.

If you read the original post, it's clear that, in this context, they're talking about the summoners that summon the champions in league to play each match, i.e. - the players

Hi! Did you manage to get a costume together? I'm planning to go as a Summoner for Halloween. I can't seem to find any suitable hooded/sleeved robes online, so I might have to actually make something real fast. I'd be curious to compare notes.
