[Amumu Cinematic] Is Amumu confirmed to be a Yordle?

I know, there has been statements from Riot in the past that they're divorcing Amumu from his Yordle ancestry, but he seems to carry a lot of Yordle traits still:

  • Disproportionate body in comparison to a human, child or not, seen in his much larger head, hands and feet (Unless he is a baby?)
  • Larger eyes than any human champion, including Annie, which is becoming a trademark of Yordles
  • 3 fingers and a thumb on each hand, a trademark creative design of Yordles

Affirmative evidence for Yordle: Y/N?

I kinda wish they made more ties with him to shurima

It was stylized, so I wouldn't read too much into his anatomy.

Overall I wouldn't take that as confirmation. The cinematic might have simply taken amumus current model as a basis for it and it was probably more a choice of style

If you want my honest answer on this.

Depends who you ask, really. The whole him being a child or Yordle is up to you as well it was mentioned in that lore that was on surrender@20. Personally I see him being a Yordle child, but its to far fetched to even be a thing really. But i'm pretty sure hes a child, he is cursed remember, those eyes aren't his and neither is that curse.

I believe that in Surrender@20, they showed a WIP of Amumu's extended background. It was a man telling a group of children the story of a man who went into a pyramid to find treasure. the man read the hieroglyphs depicting a small child king who was betrayed and killed. The boy was mummified and thrown away in a tomb.

The man in robbing the tomb came across Amumu and barely escaped with his life.

By that WIP, Amumu was a human child.
