Let's Bring Back Grey Warwick For His New Rework! :D

So with the upcoming rework for Warwick, I thought it'd be a great idea if a special event could be available to release his skin for sale or reward for playing Warwick when his rework goes live. Perhaps only available for the first day or week of his release, so that it still remains special. I'd always wanted to own this skin, but I never did the whole refer a friend thing back in the day, but now that that's gone, maybe a new way to obtain this skin (and Medieval Twitch) could be developed. Idk, maybe there's already something in the works, but I really love the rework version of the skin, and it would be awesome if I could get a chance at getting it for myself.

They are already considering this. They are going over how the people that "obtained" the skin through "Legit" means will feel about this. Needless to say im sure they will whine.

In all honesty the skin isn't so good, is a plain and simple recolor. The redeeming factor was that was rare and was sorta hard to get, take that away and it becomes another boring skin.

Well, the old one was (though I still liked it lol), but the rework one looks plenty nice imo, specially with the sword on his back instead of the liquid tube.

I do agree sword is cooler than the chemical vats with green goop.

The old one was a recolor, however the new one has more of a theme to it (kind of like what they did for Emerald Taric). Grey's theme being a kind of Medieval theme to go along with Twitch I'd say as it's got the sword in the back, kind of older tones to him, ect. They tried to remove the outdated recolors and give them real themes.

It does have particles now though.. Blue spectral ones.

As an original legit owner i really dont care that they re release the skin so long as they dont ignore it, they already basically gave it away for free, my problem lies with them giving it less attention and resources that even a 520 skin [tundra] so that re releasing it would make it lose the only value it has as a skin [rarity] if they give the skin fair treatment and actually make it worth picking over any other skin then go ahead and re release it

Well I would pick Grey WW over all the other skins if i could obtain it, perhaps choosing Feral every once in a while IF it gets fixed. I really like the new Grey skin, and even though it's a rare skin, it's still a "free" reward skin and will probably remain so when it gets re-released, so I can't really expect it to be something that resembles a skin worth more 975rp. As for the original owners, I'm on board 100% that their skin should be special, and I always thought that the Harrowing skin treatment (the one where the original Haunting Nocturne, Definitely Not Blitzcrank, etc. got a special border and rp) was fair, since it gave other players a chance to obtain a rare skin, while still keeping the bragging rights.

Oh wait, I see where you were going with this, I saw your post xD, and yea perhaps some particle effects could be added. Also, remember that the skins are being polished right now, so hopefully we'll be pleased when they get released. However, I don't necessarily think the red particles are thaaat bad, though I do like the idea of a blue hue.

Don't forget that they already gave Grey the Harrowing treatment, that's another big issue is that on live there are already 2 sets of people. the very rare gen 1 players with legacy grey and the more common gen 2 whom got it through raf 2.0. Therefore this would be a 3rd Re:Release in which no handling it correctly would cause a fair amount of players to get upset. Because they cant give the same legacy border to gen 2 players now. What i think is most deserving is the champion riven treatment to original owners, then also make like an icon or something thats based off the splash art and gives an in game emote, or profile background that could be given to both gen 1 and gen 2 players.

At first i didn't expect anything special, until they made this post basically saying they are giving a 520 skin (tundra) higher quality than Grey. Now it would be completely unfair to not give Grey at the very least recolored particles.

I'm not entirely sure that there are 2 sets of this skin, as I've only seen the skins availability to the refer-a-friend system. There were, however, changes to the number of referrals to obtain him during the last year of raf, but I can't find anywhere that confirms a set of Grey WW skins with borders, though if you have a source, I'd like to see it. As far as I could research, there is just one form of the Grey WW skin, regardless on whether or not it was obtained from the old raf format or the new one.

Thank you. I think its silly that only a small handful of people get to enjoy this glorious skin. There are tons of people who would gladly fork over both cash and/or effort to acquire it. More people owning/interested in the skin would definitely make it higher up on the "upkeep totem pole" so the people who already own the skin would be happy, the people buying/wanting to buy the skin would be happy, and Rito (with their boatloads of Warwick skin moolah) would be happy. Honestly don't see a drawback from their perspective. Unless they're allergic to money

The skin has NEVER been for sale and NEVER will be. They are thinking of linking it to another social media type of outlet as that's what Refer a Friend was. However they have said that their plans aren't set in stone, so it may not happen (Medieval Twitch, as well as making Urfwick available in some way)

Feral was supposed to be available these past holidays wasn't it? I believe it's a legacy skin. I also think the new feral isn't so great, I'd be fine if they took the muzzle off completely and gave him chains instead of/alongside the straps.

Honestly? I worked really hard to get both Medieval Twitch and Grey Warwick. long before they dumbed it down to only 5 referrals or whatever. I remember doing it when it was hundreds just for the Twitch skin. I was even kind of annoyed when they made it so easy to get it before they retired it when it was so, so much harder before. They made it so easy to snag these skins before they retired the system and if you didnt? Thats on you not Riot, they tried. If they have to appeal to the people who cry they should make some small differences like they did with Championship Riven. I get it, you want content thats unavailable and you started the game too late to get it. Thats MOST games, and shows who the Veterans are.

lol I'm sorry that you worked so hard to get something the hard way instead of having the chance to have gotten it easier (because, let's face it, if you had the chance you would've gotten it right before raf shut down) but , and stay with me here, I know it sucks but quite frankly, stuff like that happens. I also never complained about this being Riot's fault, or anyone's fault for that matter, I just want another shot at getting the skin. I only suggested the limited time sale of the skin since it would still get Riot compensation for their great work, but also as an alternative way to get the skin as opposed to creating a whole new system to reward you with, while I do feel it's a crappy way to get it but w/e. Nobody's crying here, it's just a suggestion which I really hope gets at least some thought of, and it already has been thought of, as they said they're "working on plans to release them (Grey and Urf) sometime later", though it's "not set in stone yet".

Now, IF they were to release another method to obtain the skin, similar to how refer-a-friend worked, I honestly don't see any reason why there should be particle differences like Championship Riven (unless they're as subtle as that one, really it's just my opinion I'd just love to have the skin as is) since I'll just have to go ahead and work for it, maybe not as hard or exactly the same way you did, but I still earned the skin. I honestly think that the special splash border is fine, because it still shows that you got the old school one, without taking away from the original concept. Also, there's the fact that "back in your day", that skin was kinda boring since it was just a pallet swap of the classic skin, and now it's pretty much the best out of the bunch and is a much better incentive to get people who don't have it to get involved with whatever Riot plans on doing, at least for me it is.

I had my chance to get it and I didn't. Now I do want to do it, and Riot can exploit my interests in any way they want. So ye, srry..
