This was the image that when I first saw it on the Riot internal art thingie, it took my breath away. (Though, I have a soft spot for Sona, my first main, and think her picture was one of the most beautiful visions of her I've ever seen, too.)
It really bugs me how thin Vi is.
Like even if the gauntlets are doing most of the work, she's not a delicate flower. She's a rough ex-criminal who fights with her hands. Yet her arms look about the same size as Katarina or Ahri. The animation is definitely cool but man, I honestly think Vi should look more like Illaoi's bodytype than this one she has going on right now.
So she's been shot in the back, but her hands are the focus, as expected. Going by symbolism I guess the fire around her hands is meant to represent her bringing harm to those who she holds dear. The confusion she has about her past and Jinx has led her to worry about what she might have done, and she fears that the very same hands that protect the things she loves might also bring destruction to them. The gauntlets themselves are shown burning too, perhaps implying that Vi has some underlying belief that with these hands she's built she has the power to fix things, but she might break even those if she continues on as she is now.
I dunno. Gonna have to think about things now that all four teasers are up. Looking at schedules and timings we won't get much else pertaining to all of this until monday at the earliest. I've been wrong on that before though so be wary of new stuff over the weekend, just in case!!
I don't actually think he's a bad guy, I think all the teasers so far have been a display of freedom.
Zed was shot and pure energy started to bloom from within him, freeing him from the shadows that taint his soul.
Sona was shot and energy began to flow from her throat out of her mouth. That could have been her speaking, freeing her from her silence.
Garen was shot and his massive armour was shattered. His portrait showed his face, his image, broken. Freeing him from the identity and his role of perfect Demacian juggernaut of justice.
Now Vi has been shot. Her arms glow red hot and melt through her beat-em-up gauntlets. Those gauntlets are who she is, the massive handed, beat down, Piltover 2nd in command of justice. Free from the hands, free from the punching and chasing. Free.
