Ok Rito. Freljord is out of the way, Shurima is coming to an end, Targon should be next on the list.

Hi! I'm TheTyeGuy! Leona Main and Lore Lover. I have some ideas for the potential Targon Lore Patch right here! Enjoy!

What I would love to see is a serious conflict between the Solari and the Lunari. But I think it should be a situation where there is no good or bad guy. The Solari have forbidden Moon worship because of Sun Supremacy, and the Lunari are very PO'd about that, but to get their freedom, they do some pretty off color things. Zealots V Zealots.

First of all, I think there are a few champions who need attention for when this does end up happening.

Diana : Probably a kit rework and slight TU. Definitely want a Lunari Diana skin. I would like to know more about what the Lunari is Leona : I want to know more about what the Solari do, and how Leona lives among them. This may involve changing her VO similarly to what happened with Ashe during the Freljord patch. Also, Leona never struck me as the kind of person who wants to go to war, however, the Solari do seem like the people who want to crush the moon lovers! I think that could make for some interesting development. Pantheon : Pants is just thematically boring. His kit maybe could use a few tweaks if any, but I don't really care about his story. I think he needs a new Identity, and a personality bigger than "I like to war sometimes." He's friends with Leona, so that could be a thing when champions represent sides.

As for any possible new champions, I think it should be something celestial: something that embodies the spirit of the sun and moon in one and tries to end whatever conflict arises.

Another one of my reasons for choosing Targon is the very obvious chain of support items. We had item 3092 , item 3069 is just about done, now it just leaves item 3401

Guess which way I voted...

No face for Pantheon. It takes away from his status as an ideal. He is the epitome of everything a Rakkor can aspire to. A living testament to the idea that the strong survive. His lack of a face makes it easier for lesser men to imagine they are him. If I were to expand his lore I'd also claim he hides his face because being that ideal isn't what he wants from his life. He'd really rather be a baker, and lead a normal life. At least normal by Rakkor standards. In that way putting on the mask each morning is his way of putting on his public face. His way of separating the man he wants to be and the man he has to be.

They need to finish Shurima.

We still don't know why Jafar - I mean Xerath - wanted to take control of the Genie - I mean ascend.

Other side of the coin Riot. We're waiting. That before Targon.

I'd rather Riot figure out their approach to things before even touching Targon.

Also Panth's theme is thematically awesome. Spear.

Targon is currently represented by three champions: Sun Lady, Sailor Moon and Baker Wannabe. (Four with a new champion).

Other regions have more champs and more opportunity for stories. Targon won't be next. It'll probably be Bilgewater or Zaun/Piltover.

I was on a Smurf, but I voted No just because of your suggestion of a Diana Kit Rework. I see absolutely nothing wrong with her current kit to warrant this kind of suggestion, especially when there are still champions like Urgot who are literally Unviable in the League. In comparison, Diana is actually very useful if you know how to play her and very, very fun.

Also Targon I don't think needs Lore Updates quite as much as, say, Zaun (Singed's Lore hasn't been updated for a very long time, he's STILL Warwick's Apprentice and that REALLY needs to be fixed.)

Well, thats an interesting connection you made with the support items. If Targon will be next for a massive event like Shurima and the Freljord, I suspect we wont see it for at least a year, considering the fact the Freljord event happened over a year ago.

Plus, I'm all for a new Diana skin. :D

God I hope not.

I would love to see more of Mt.Targon,it is one of the less defined states and I'd like to see more about the rakkor(who are barely mentioned) and the lunari/solari.

However I think an Ionia event is coming. With the league removed, they need to rewrite it and Ao shin is supposed to come out next year. They also seem to build up some big conflict for ionia between those who want to remain traditional and peaceful(like LeeSin ,Kennen or MasterYi ) and some who think traditions are weakening ionia and/or want revenge(like Syndra ,Zed and Varus )

Not saying there would be 2 clear sides here, like in the shurima event, for example I'd say Akali would probably be also for revenge, but will most likely not side with Zed and syndra.

"Freljord is out of the way, Shurima is coming to an end, Targon should be next on the list."

List of what, perfectly fine lore to retcon for the worse? You say you like Leona's lore, which suggests there's no problems with it right now. Do you really want them to ruin it for you like they did with other champions such as Trundle, or the many involved in Shurima's literary massacre? I dunno, I guess it's possible they could do new lore without screwing it up, but given their track record as of late, I'm less than optimistic.

With the Sion thing out now I would assume it's going to be a Noxus thing mate.

VOID EVENT PLS TY

Magpies9/23/2014, 6:48:24 PM1 votes

My heart wants an Ionian event so badly, but my brain is with OP. Targon and its champions need a LOT of work. Diana needs a kit that actually allows players to be viable and have fun with her, and not this watered-down, weak-assassin/weak-bruiser junk. Leona enjoys popularity at all levels of play, while her lunar counterpart is stuck in the shadows, forgotten by most.

To be quite honest, I think Pantheon's lore doesn't need to be changed, just expanded upon. The Rakkor are profoundly interesting; I just want to know what makes Pantheon stand out among them. In addition, I think his mention in Leona's lore doesn't quite fit his character. In my opinion, the Rakkor are basically Spartan, and the Spartan lifestyle doesn't lend itself to childhood friends.

I think that there are other parts of the lore that could use some exploration as far as actually acquiring plots relevant to them. Noxus, Ionia, Damacia, Bandle City, Piltover, and Zaun have well defined relations and some basic conflict surrounding them. If you fight for one of these nations you know who you're up against. Noxus and Damacia are bashing each other's heads in, Piltover and Zaun have a more subtle conflict dictated by a magiscientific arms race. Bandle City and Ionia are usually on the side of Damacia and Zaun. Recent events have given us some real plot for the Freljord and Shurima. There is nearly open war between the three clans over who will rule the Freljord and Shurima has risen once more. Targon's plot (though somewhat up in the air because it is all pre-retcon) is also fairly well established. The Solari ruled there in a religious nation-state (much like Athens or Sparta) but have been brought low (destroyed?) by a heretic (Diana) who has found in some ruins the remnants of the lunari civilization. My point here is it's fairly fleshed out. Sure we could know more about the Solari/Lunari, but we don't need to know this to have a compelling narrative.

I think a more opportune target would be the Shadow Isles. The Shadow Isles and the Void are both ripe to be explored, but the void is hard to comprehend and most of the characters from the void have very simple motives (eat, hunt, learn). With this in mind, I think creating some sort of understanding of not only what the shadow isles are but also how they relate in a larger sense to the rest of Runterra would be valuable. It would be nice to understand why anyone other than lucain and vayne would fight with/against the champions of the Shadow Isles.

Ptarlorr9/24/2014, 12:19:40 AM1 votes

Also a new Targon champion would be great!

I have hopes that maybe there'd be a character who doesn't stack up to the Rakkor's usual expectations and finds some other way to fight, using their skills some other way. Like a teenager who builds a siege engine of sorts and the ultimate would be a harpoon shooting their fallen father's spear/lance/whatever relic-weapon attached to a rope(since they don't want to lose it) they can reel back in when they're not moving. The kit could revolve around adding armor or extra spikes to it when stationary.

More Lunari/Solari might seem redundant and I think we have enough ancient guardians and necromancy going on right now.
