Mount Targon and its "Tests"

There is a common thread about how the Targon's champions got their status as Aspect of the divines. Everyone had to be a companion during the climbl on the mountain.

Leona Had to follow the "golden skin boy with horns and bat-like wings" after her act of benevolence that had she been blamed for not attacking and killing the creature. This gave her a chance to meet him again and follow him to the summit. atop of the mountain while chasing Diana.

Diana Had to prove her selflessness despite knowing well that neither her and the old woman would be able to get to the peak of the mountain, let alone in a single night. A girl left alone by his comrades had to give herself for the sake of anotherone.

Pantheon His trial is probably the most subtle, he had to prove his worth to be on pair with a naturally talented warrior and then take the climb with him. Atreus proved his will strenght by surviving the travel and reaching the summit with his companion... and abandoning him. Right, he had to forsake him after creating a strong bond between them, this way Pantheon could accept him and Atreus would be able to trade himself in order to become Pantheon.

I am waiting for the incoming champions in order to see if this connection between Targon and its people well be kept. It has a lot of ptential.

Overall there is something weird going on in that Leona and Diana more or less reached the top of the mountain "by accident" and in both their lores there is something that seems supernatural(diana noticed that she reached the top a lot faster than it should have been possible and Leonas lore mentions how the landscape seemed unfamiliar as if it had never existed before) So I guess that something supernatural helped them.

Pantheons however seems different,he seems to have climbed the mountain for real with a group of warriors.

In the end I'd say that Diana and Leona were actually chosen by a higher power, while Pantheon climbed the mountain himself and only proved his worth by doing so.

Leona did not chase the golden boy while climbing the summit, if i am right..? She just found it there at the top.

The diana one got me the most puzzled... not because i could not see the meaning behind hers, but because it' s both out of character and sensless. Why would she have ever done that? Even the most selfless person would have considered that suicide, why she did not offer the woman a place in her room instead so she could keep going on the next day?

Atreus one instead to me is the most clear and elegant - to become Pantheon he has to abandon all who he loves or has friendship with, because Pantheon is the one that takes over totally the personality of the host. And that makes sense, from a certain point of view, because war is of many and not of a singular being, while sun and moon can be associated to single entities or phenomena, so it makes sense he is the one that doe snot mantain his character, so far. It can also be so he does not become traumatized from war, because we all know even the most rugged veteran can' t stand brutalities that much. Looking at you, Saurfang Senior.
