Why I think Kalista is Senna

Hey everyone. Thanks for reading this. I just noticed several threads on the theory that Senna could be Kalista and decided to look into it. After reading Lucian's lore and the little bit we have on Kalista, I think it is very plausible that Kalista could be Senna. If you check Lucian's lore, several things make sense.

  1. It says that Lucian has BOTH of the relic weapons they used to use in combat together, which would explain why she is using a new weapon.
  2. It says that Thresh tricked Senna and then captured her soul, which could fit the part where Kalista was "treacherously murdered", it is a tiny bit of word manipulation I will admit but this is all in theory.
  3. Her appearance was "twisted by the horrific power of the Shadow Isles" which may explain why she would look different.
  4. I don't think that we have been told to what extent Thresh can use his captured souls. If he can do more than just capture them, then it stands to reason that he saw the potential in Senna once he captured her and decided to make her a minion of his, which is why she gathers souls.
  5. Thresh would know that it would torture, distract, and piss off Lucian if his wife was reanimated as one of the very things he has set out to eliminate.

Personally this seems to connect fairly easily to what we have on lore but if you disagree on a point please feel free to point out any flaws in it.

First of all Kalista literally has spears in her back and her title is the Spear of vengeance obviously she was betrayed while alive by her ally/allies and they through spears in her back. Lucian didn't betray Senna there is no logic to your argument also why would Senna move to a weapon she has never used before why wouldn't she just get another gun?

Unless Riot is flat out lying to us with her lore, there is a 0% chance of Kalista having any sort of connection to Senna. Might as well say she is Varus' wife or Zilean's mother.

Dude...have a good look at her, clearly shes not senna. Senna was from Demacia. Kalista is more rakkor looking. Kalista is a completely new person. Senna is trapped in Threshes lantern............

Wut, the whole point of Kalista is betrayal by the person who she trusted the most. Are you suggesting Lucian betrayed her? Also, she's way too old to be Senna. Senna's capture was a recent happening, otherwise Lucian would be dead, there is no way that she'll go through such a major transformation in such a short amount of time, not to mention mastering an entirely new weapon, which speaking of, how do spears in any way represent Senna? Finally, if she was Senna, how could she wouldn't remember Lucian? Her purpose is to avenge the betrayed (at a price), because she herself was betrayed by someone she loved dearly, why would she forget him/her/them if he/she/they are the purpose of her existence????

I think that the "black mist" teasers earlier would have focused on Thresh and Lucian if this were to be true. My guess is that Hecarim is the one who initially betrayed Kalista. I don't have much to back that up, but a good deal of the Harrowing teasers seemed to highlight Hecarim (his was one of the champ pages clouded with the mist and he was featured in the Harrowing video). Again, nothing much else to substantiate that--but it seems more likely to me than Kalista really being Senna. Hecarim doesn't wield a spear, though, and that does seem to be the weapon that killed her when she was betrayed. I guess we'll just have to wait for more of her lore.

As long as it keeps people from putting out another "Evelynn is Senna" theory, I'm all for it: Never liked that theory because it takes away what little of a character Evelynn already is, and just makes her another part of Thresh and Lucian's Rivalry by being Thresh's minion, without being a true character of her own.

I guess you could maybe say the same if Kalista ends up being Senna, but at least Kalista isn't already a pre-established character NOT due for a thematic relaunch, where if she became 'Corrupted Senna' it'd just feel... like something's being stepped on.

I'm sorry, I turned that into an unrelated rant, didn't I? My apologize. Anyway, Kalista's full lore hasn't been revealed, so until then her being a corrupted Senna is totally plausible. But of course if she was, then they probably wouldn't make it obvious on her release lore; wanting to keep a bit of mystery and all. But if they don't go too far into her pre-Shadow Isle's life, then the possibility will still remain.
